I'm lucky to live fairly close to this bit of Houston history and can bring friends here to enjoy the gardens (my favorite part) when the weather is nice. Spring is best when the azaleas are in bloom! The pathways and various gardens throughout the...More

Great way to see what life was like in the early houston days. Great look at the house as it was then. One of the best gardens in the city.

Neat tour of home and gardens. Classic furniture of the period in the amazing home. Nice little walk into the place across a suspended bridge. That alone was pretty neat! As I recall we paid $12.50 per adult and I thought that was very much...More

Walked through the gardens in early May. Beautiful, comfortable weather (72). The two-story home has furnishings from different periods in each room. Interesting for history buffs. Not necessarily the casual traveler, or with kids under 21 who find it boring.

A Gem donated to the city of Houston by Ima Hogg with her collection of various periods of Americana Furnishings. Also view her homes extensive gardens (also popular when the Azaleas are in bloom)

It is a pleasant and beautiful garden. We paid military rate with the discount and it was still $16 per adult. We only got tickets to browse the gardens and its pathways and not go inside the mansion. Even though it was very charming and...More

Yes there are many times brides have photos taken in the garden area. I am not sure about using the house. The gardens are beautiful and photographers use it often.
