The lady at the front was very knowledgeable about Billy the Kid. She was a delight and made our visit very interesting. 5 stars for her and interesting historic information. This small regional museum is more like a flea market with stuff scattered about in...More

The lady who manned the desk was delightful, full of information and stories, and passionate about passing on much of her knowledge. The military items were geared toward local people. Billy the Kid might be controversial, but I tend to side with Hico. You will...More

Interesting readings and photos about Billy the Kid; it seems he wasn't shot and killed by Pat Garrett and so no evidence proving when he died. Speculation over whether he lived in Hico under another name. Worth stopping at the little town, if on route,...More

Nice collection of War heroes from the town of Hico. Intersting to think that Billy the Kid wasn't shot by Pat Garrett.

So maybe Billy the Kid really died here. Maybe not. But the museum was informative and interesting. And free! It was a nice stop on the road to the hill country.

A lot of people know about Brushy Bill Roberts and like most, I thought his claims to being William Bonney to be little more than a load of road apples, horse hockey: phooey. While much of the items on display are conjecture and 2nd hand...More

I was a bit disappointed in the exhibits, which are mostly local trinkets and newspaper clippings. The supposed facts are certainly stretched to their limits here, for the sake of perpetuating the myth of BTK having grown old in Hico, which might be all that...More
