As a family we are used to the size and clarity of lakes in Arkansas. We rented a party barge and went tubing with friends and family. The lake is pretty small so we could only make short runs and turning was pretty tight. It was not crowded when we went.

Wonderful walks for all the family on trails which curve around the shores of the lake. We went on a Sunday afternoon in late October, it was a popular spot with lots of walkers and mountain bikers, so the trails can get a bit crowded, but worth it for the lovely views of the lake and surrounding vegetation.

Grapevine is a great lake for sailing, and water sports! The flood waters have receded :-) Beautiful views.

We went this weekend, you can go hiking or go biking. If anybody wants to, there's also mountain bike trails. But I think the best time to go is during fall and winter to prevent the unwelcoming smells of the artificial lake.

I love this lake. It is small but not very busy. The only draw back is that all of the parks are not open yet from the flooding. We jet ski and launch from Katy Woods that is a city park and only $5 to launch. You can access all park beaches from inside the lake.

Just started paddle boarding. Now I am addicted. Easy to do and you do not have to be a world class athlete. Dfw surf also offers kayaking and biking. They also have special membership plans , yoga and a camping club to boot. Cody and Tyler have a great and very knowledgable staff. They always make you feel welcome and... More

My son and I drove around this lake to arrive at a lookout spot, and it took us about 25 minutes to arrive there, starting from Trophy Club. The only inroads are on the north and east side, apparently. It was very hot the day we visited, and we did not stay long, but the lake was nice, large, and... More

My husband and I visited Grapevine Lake this past weekend and rented some kayaks from DFW Surf. We set out at 9AM on Saturday morning and the lake was fairly calm: only us, some other kayakers/SUPers/small fishing boats. When we finished up at 11AM, the lake was pretty busy with wake boats and the wind had picked up and made... More

If I am short on time or lazy, I go to the Grapevine side of the lake! Great biking and walking trails, Big Daddy's Boat House is fantastic BYOB spot with live music! Nice marina and friendly people! If I have more time, I drive around to Flower Mound, and hit all the wooded biking trails, and explore the forests... More
