This park is part of the system of parks around Lake Joe Pool in Grand Prairie (another is Lyn Creek Park and marina area.) There is a $10 vehicle entry fee or you can buy a pass - just realize this is a county park so the pass only works at this park. The rangers are super nice and helpful... More

Loyd park. I love this place. I prefer this over the state park for a few reasons. The main reason is because of their beautiful kayak/canoe trail. It is peaceful. Even when it is windy on the main lake, you get to the trail the wind usually dies down. This trail is also great for fishing. Many bass boats go... More

My husband and I rented a cabin last weekend. Loved the view of the lake. The beach area was nice and loved the sound of the water. Only down side was that some people there did not clean up after themselves. Left their trash out when there were plenty of trash cans around the picnic tables and beach area

I've camped here only 1 time before. This year they've added a few more things to do like Kayaking. They have also added more cabins and a lodge for non-tent campers. Great for local camping.

We frequently camp here, Primitive lots or lots with connections(Power)Water) Lakeside or not, Reasonably clean bathrooms and showers and hot water to boot! its one of our favorites because of its location, not having to travel out of town too far is a great luxury for a weekend getaway!

My wife and I regularly picnic at Loyd Park. We also bring our kayaks because the park has a really nice route to float. VERY NICE!

I didn't give 5 stars because there is a dump station not individual sewer hook up for campground. Now the cost makes up for that too. $18 /NIGHT and $10 entrance fee per car per day. We found a coupon in the welcome center in a lodging booklet. I love this park. Have stayed in March as well as May.... More

My family and I recently camped for two nights at Loyd Park with 5 other families. We all tent camped and had small children. We stayed at sites 115 and 116. Nice location near some water and the foot bridge. A bit of a distance from the bathrooms unless you cut through another campsite. We really enjoyed the beach area... More

Beautiful park lot of trees though there is not much view of the water which is JoePool lake and it's not much of a lake but its central location between Dallas Arlington and Ft.Worth makes it an ideal place to camp, you do have to use a dump station as there is no sewerage at the campsites
