We enjoyed a delightful Arlo Guthrie concert at this intimate, historic theater—our third time attending an event there. Acoustics, sound system, lighting, and sight-lines are excellent. The theater’s website makes it easy to order tickets in advance. This performance hall is a Galveston treasure. If...More

We went to this theater to see the Midtown Men. The concert was really fun, but the theater was exquisite. Only drawback was the seating in the balcony was "tight"...my knees were aching by the time we left due to not being able to stretch...More

We stopped to tour the Opera House during the afternoon. We did pay, but not too much. It was fun going to the top floor and working our way down. It has been renovated and looks great. I would like to see a show there...More

The Grand 1894 Opera House is a theater frozen in time. A visit feels like a trip to turn of the century Galveston (before the Great Storm) when the city was the most populous and cosmopolitan in Texas. The venue is a small one which...More

Restored Pre-1900 Opera house built when Galveston was booming as the center of commerce in Texas. Incredible atmosphere, and world class entertainment and musicals. A tremendous, intimate venue for live entertainment.

We heard an amazing band play music from the 40s and 50s. Loved every minute of it. This is such a great place to go as a group or single or as a couple. Beautiful architecture with a lot of history..

Had the privilege to attend two performances in this gem of history while I visited in Galveston. A real treat.

This is a very nice venue, but if you have long legs, better pick your seat carefully. I've been to many old theaters and this one is very nice. But some of the gushing reviews are a little over the top. It's nice, but not...More

Thank you for your review of The Grand. I'm sorry the leg room was not adequate for your needs - I'm sure you can appreciate the fact that folks were much shorter in stature back in 1894. Our theatre's seat blueprint is kept as close...More

It's a little tight. I wish they would advertise more clearly that you can bring certain drinks that you buy from them into the theater. I didn't realize until our latest visit and I realized that that is definitely what other shows have been missing....More

Thank you for your review. Please call and ask our ticketing services staff for recommendations on seating for your husband. Folks are much taller than when the theatre was first built in 1894, and our seating footprint is based on the original plan to accommodate...More

We don't have our own parking lot, so customers should utilize area paid parking lots. There is a large pay lot directly behind the theatre at 21st and Market streets, a parking garage also on Market at 21st on Northwest... More
