Ok the reviews are right - this is NOT a free beach - but to us it was worth it. Parking is centralized and easier than dragging your gear across the street or down the seawall. Beach area is way bigger and spread out -...More

Like many other reviewers, I paid to go to this beach just for the showers. Other beaches are free! Upon entering I asked the guy at the gate what time the showers close. I was told 6:30. I went over to take a shower by...More

Went there on Saturday moring. Beach itself is huge and has lots of umbrellas and chairs for rent - 35$ for an umbrella and two chairs. I think it is too much. Furthemore, tractors, police and other cars are passing all the time. Parking costs...More

Spacious beach with restrooms and a snack bar. They also had a huge blow up slide when we were there. $7/vehicle. We spent several days on this beach!

There were people everywhere! It was a good beach to go to if you don't mind the crowd. Had to pay for parking but didn't rent chairs or umbrellas. Everything was pretty high. Glad we came bit probably could have found something better.

3 1/2 hours is about right. One thing we learned the hard way.....There is heavy construction on I-45 south of the Sam Houston Parkway. Now and then they close all lanes on the weekends. We were caught in that a few... More
