We have been to this particular beach many times. It is always a relaxing place to get away with our family. There is currently a twelve dollar entrance fee, but is is an alcohol-free, glass bottle free beach that is well attended by fun-loving sun...More

Stewart Beach is in in the heart of Galveston and only a 40 minute drive from Houston (Hobby). The sand is very fine and there are big open expanses of area to lay, play, and enjoy the water. It costs $10 per car to get...More

Our grand kids were down from the Dallas area during the recent week for July 4th. Drove down early from Houston area to Stewart Beach and hopefully beat the crowd. Day was over cast, not too hot and had choice selection of beach umbrella with...More

My family stayed right across from this beach. It does cost $10 to get into the beach, however it was worth it. Although if you have a handicap tag like my parents did, you can get in at no charge. The beach was clean and...More

Don’t bring an easy-up, they’ll make you put it super far from the water. The only thing we could have was the small tent we brought for our baby—glad I had that! Otherwise we would’ve been forced to pay $35 to rent a cheesy umbrella...More

We went the day after Memorial Day and was surprised to see how clean and nice the beach was. We knew to expect the guy who pops out of nowhere to ask for the chair rental fee. He was nice and friendly. It was a...More

Great place to relax with a couple of chairs and an umbrella on the beach. Frisbee and volleyball are great there as well. Good changing rooms and restrooms there. Close to McDonalds as well for a quick meal. Beautiful view!!

You can but only an umbrella or a small tent. Can’t bring an easy up. They want you to pay to rent their stuff and so they make it more difficult to discourage people from bringing their own stuff. I recommend a wagon if... More

Yes. The water is colored with Mississippi delta mud but safe to swim in. As with all ponds, rivers, pools and oceans... don’t go in with open sores. Surprisingly to me, the highest bacteria count is right after a big... More
