My wife and I took the Historic Tour the week of Thanksgiving. We had taken an open-air tram tour in Santa Fe a few years back, and knew they could be fun and informative, if done properly. Joseph, our tour operator, gave us a very informative tour of the area around the Visitors' Center, downtown (including The Strand), the harbor... More

I never got to take the tour, so my review doesn't cover the content. I called several times for a weekend tour both prior to leaving for and during our stay. I was told every time that they were all booked up. We passed the cart on the street at one point and it wasn't even half full, so we... More

I just wanted to make sure your posted your review in the right place. I've been having problems lately with a tour company that has a similar name to mine and use the exact same cart as mine. Their tour name is Galveston Island Historic Tours and I'm just Galveston Historic Tour. You may have seen their cart and not... More

The tour begins at the Visitors center. We rode around the city in an open air electric 12-passenger golf cart type vehicle. It was quiet, comfortable and we were able to clearly hear his narration of the historical building and the points of interest of the tour. He was very knowledgeable but not as outgoing or entertaining as some others.... More

Very reasonable price for a great introduction to the historical section of Galveston. Joseph covered general history, and was able to answer all questions. He also introduced general info about current events and places to shop and eat, so it is a great way to see places you'd like to explore further.

The majority of the tour was pointing out places to eat, drink, shop--felt like we were on an advertising tour!! Also golfcart full so we had to sit on back seat facing wrong way so very difficult to see what guide was pointing out--did see some historic buildings.

Thank you for your review. All I can say is I'm sorry if the tour wasn't what you were expecting or looking for. With the cart, that's just the way they're made. I can't really do anything about that. Some people love seating backwards and some hate it. There's really no in between, but like I said I can't change... More

We read about a guided tour of Galveston given by a history teacher. We went to the Visitors Center at got information to contact guide. He picked us up there in a long golf cart vehicle. The tour was very informative and gave us the history of the city and pointed out historic buildings, architecture, monuments and the tree sculptures... More

I've been to Galveston many times, but this was the first time I'd ever taken the historic tour. I loved hearing about the history of the island and learn about its districts, wharfs, museums, historical houses and more. Our guide was local who have us great dining recommendations. This is a great way to get acquainted with the island as... More

We purchased a Groupon for this tour and were so glad we did! We were there in August (so it was HOT & HUMID!), but once you got going, the breeze on the open air "golf card" felt nice. Our guide (I think his name was Joseph?) was excellent. He zoomed us all over the historic part of the city... More

Excellent tour for the money, the knowledge and experience. My husband and I really enjoyed it. We road on a tour guide cart with plenty of room. The tour guide was very upbeat and knowledgable.
