We watched the two docos on the 1900 hurricane and the pirate/privateer Laffite. The former was the better; it's amazing that Galveston is still here given this and other hurricane's over the last hundred years. Given that the film-maker only had a few stills to...More

One cannot visit Galveston without understanding the impact of hurricanes on the island. The short film The Storm recounts the events of the hurricane of 1900. The impact is presented not simply in statistical data but in human terms. Thank God meteorology has come a...More

The woman selling tickets definitely doesn’t like her job. Impatient with questions and rude. We saw Lafitte movie which was fine but only 20 minutes long. We paid 12$ for that?!! Come on. 3$ each seems a fairer price.

Movie was very good. Lots of details, felt like you were going through it. Pen and ink drawings appropriate for the time.

Planned on only watching "The Great Storm" but because of our arrival time decided to also watch "Jean Lafitte". That movie was relatively interesting but "The Great Storm" was so well done. A sad story of the great hurricane of 1900 that destroyed so much...More

I have never been to a business where they make it so hard to do business. Our first attempt we made it on time but two in our party were parking so the cashier refused us. I asked her for directions on how to get...More

It cost $6 to watch a 27 minute movie. It cost $4 to park for an hour. So $10 for 27 minute movie. Movie should be updated and longer. Just go to the library to learn about 1900 disaster,

I love reading about the Galveston storm of 1900 but was very disappointed in the 27 minute documentary about the event. Felt very poorly put together and out of focus for the entire presentation. We also watched a documentary about the pirate era...again disappointing. The...More
