It is what it is. It's not terribly exciting, but it's nice for a leisurely stroll. The ocean does not smell the best here though.

It was beautiful! We spent time walking on the beach and enjoyed the gulf. They had fireworks in the evening.

The water was absolutely beautiful. There are plenty of things to do. From swimming to shopping to having fun at the Pleasure Pier.

Great place to walk along the shore with things to do. Head over to Pleasure Peer. Lots of places to eat.

We have been coming to Galveston Island for years, but to be frank the beaches have been a disappointment most times. No longer! Extensive work on cleaning the beaches is evident and welcomed. We couldn't wait to get out there this time. Great job City of Galveston!

Since I've been coming to Galveston for about 40 years now it's really nice to see what they're doing with the beach. It used to be there was no Beach and now there is! You can actually set up on the beach and have a nice afternoon and not be confined to Stewart Beach or East Beach where you have... More

Walking the seawall is always an adventure. Someone cleans the beach at night/early morn. We enjoy walking about 7 am before the heat and crowds and about 7 pm. Peaceful most times. Most people clean up after themselves pretty good.

Very clean golden sand, warm water, lifeguard stations about every 4 blocks. Rental chairs and umbrellas available. Surf too much for very small children and not enough for surfers. No shade unless you bring it or rent it. A long smooth walkway runs for miles along the edge of the beach, good for walkers, cyclists, skaters, etc.
