My wife and I enjoyed a stroll along this quaint shopping area in Galveston after a cruise. There were many places to get gifts, coffee, food items, and clothing. A large array of items that we have not seen elsewhere! Street parking is $1.50 per...More

Visit candy store. It’s unbelievable. Quite a few shops were not open on Wednesday. Star drugstore had a delicious lunchtime menu. The dill potato salad was great.

The Strand is a tourist area near the cruise terminal. It has wonderful old buildings that apparently survived the 1900 hurricane. There are gift shops and restaurants and art galleries but the real attraction is how well preserved the buildings are given the number of...More

Always something to do. Dog friendly. We have never been there that something wasn't going on. Shopping and people are fun to watch.

The strand is a great idea, but it does need a few more bars, restaurants, cigar shops, etc. We stayed in Galveston for a week and found ourselves back here a few times. Just wish there were a little more going on.

We walked the strand and visited some nice/eclectic shops along with the more touristy souvenir shops. Several antique shops, including one with maritime items were especially interesting. Only comment would be to post more signs about location of restrooms.

We stopped at least half of the shops and found them entertaining, while too expensive to make a purchase, but several we splurged just because. Liked the jerky spot, and confectionery shop. Street parking easy to add time without moving your vehicle.

The Strand offers shops, casual restaurants, revitalized houses and a tall ship. A pleasant way to spend a few hours.

Horse drawn carriages abound on the weekends. Store people were friendly. Every place we ate or snacked was very good. It's a nice place to meander and shop. Prices were very reasonable -- better than expected for a "tourist" area.

I have heard that the terminal has storage across the street. I don't know positively as I haven't used it, ask on board the ship. They will know. I have also heard there is storage somewhere on the Strand, Chamber of... More

There's a nice visitor center across from the Rosenberg Library. They can tell you all you need to know.

Ditto...didn't see any golf cart tours, just the horse and carriage tour. Not sure the price on that, but it looked like there was a sign on one of the corners.
