n 2011 Messina Hof Hill Country Winery opened its doors in Fredericksburg, the second largest wine tourism destination in the country. Messina Hof winery is the third oldest in the state of Texas. Their selection of wines is extensive and outstanding with a focus on Italian varietals as would be expected but also a wide array of wines primarily focusing on Texas grown grapes. You will not be disappointed.

Their wines are fantastic. The environment here when we came was very calm, friendly, and not full of crazy kids or party animals. So obviously, we were happy.

The wine is very good and the sample sizes are ample. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Facilty is nice and they even had a food truck on site.

Messina Hof is a great place to visit. Their wine selection is outstanding from dry to sweet. They offer red, white, rose wines. My favorite wines are the Papa Paulo Porto and Texas Sherry. Both are sweet and robust without the need for fortification. The place is not too far outside of Fredericksburg with lots of parking,

A very nice winery, conveniently located on Hwy 290 into Fredricksburg, TX. Tastings were $10 for 5 samples and included a complimentary wine glass. They have an extensive variety of wines, so there are many choices to try for both the sweet and dry lovers. We were there after 4 pm and they have a happy hour when one can... More

Impressive vineyard and winery. Have a wide selection of wines that almost anyone can find something to enjoy. Appreciated that they had several sparkling options as well. Welcoming atmosphere to taste in, and they never made you feel out of place. One of my favorites!
