This museum is actually a pioneer village from the early settlement of the Fredericksburg area. The buildings are neat to explore and they have a recording that tells a bit about each one when you enter. This is a self-guided tour that starts off with...More

My great-grandfather was an early settler of Fredericksburg in 1846. The video and exhibits give a very good feeling for what life must have been like for the first German settlers who arrived in the mid-19th Century.

We are so glad you chose to come see us. The National Museum of the Pacific War is obviously a great draw for visitors, and we believe the Pioneer Museum adds another dimension to the storytelling about Fredericksburg. Thank you for coming and sharing your...More

Many buildings over 100 years old. Nice audio triggered when you entered the building spoken by people with connection to the building, either as descendants or, for example, a graduate from the one room school.

Wonderful staff and docents. Great place for adults and or family with kids. Teach the kids a little about "history" .

This place was educational and well done. It just didn't appeal to me too much. Maybe I wasn't in the mood or maybe I've seen too many pioneer exhibits. I've also done a good deal of study on this topic and I thought I would...More

We did this on a day when it was rainy. It was the perfect venue for the weather. Each building provides a motion activated recording. The gift shop provided umbrellas.

This museum is fantastic. A great introductory video at the start explaining the story of the early settlers and then you go around various buildings, all original from the mid 1800's. The have been painstakingly moved and reformed to be on one sight. The artefacts...More
