Did the self tour and found it immensely informative and interesting. The two museums in the lobby are quite nice as well. There is even a small gift shop. Keep in mind that there are many restrictions on what can be taken into the facility....More

The tour is free. Down side would be you might be there during school field trips. I've been 4 times because of field trips, but I enjoyed the Bureau every time. I find the process of making paper money very interesting.

Watch the video before taking the tour. It really helps you to understand the tour as you are taking because not all of the workers are actively handling the money or working with the machines. It may be that they are in conversation with a...More

Groups can tour the area and listen to a device as they go around and see the workers working below making our currency. After the kids can examine things to see small mistakes in money and how the imprinting is done.

I thought this was more for the adults as you can appreciate what they are doing. Not to say to leave the kids at home, they'll learn something on this tour. The amount of currency that is printed here is incredible. When they print the...More

I thought they might have had something in the guardhouse where you go through the metal detector. Best bet is to call them: (866) 865-1194 This number is on the website too.

We, and others that I noticed, left our cell phones in our car. We assumed that security was such here that we had nothing to worry about.
