Today, each of the historic structures, furnished with authentic artifacts, provides a vivid look at life in the nineteenth century North Texas frontier. Each log house displays different aspect of pioneer life. The exhibits include a water-powered gristmill, a one-room schoolhouse, a blacksmith shop, an herb garden, and several log home settings. Historical interpreters, who are City of Fort Worth staff and volunteers, depict the lifestyle of the people who lived and settled the area in the mid to late 1800s.

Went here with my family and was fun to walk around and see all the history! The school house was super cute and we loved ringing the bell:) The staff were all dressed up in the historical attire and were super helpful and knowledgeable in the time period. Also loved getting to dip candles and got to buy our own... More

A great collection of log cabins from the late 1800s into the early 1900s. Got to see activities like candle making. My favorite was the music. The musicians were playing many instruments not commonly and they were very entertaining when they played very old songs. The musicians themselves were of every age which showed that the knowledge of music is... More

It is a little boring if you are just going to look around, but if you are interested in how the first settlers lived back in the day, this is a great stop for the whole family. My very little kids used to love this place because the people in the displays would be very patient with them and show... More

We are done homeschooling now, but we have fond memories of our field trips here for many years. We enjoyed the supplemental visual information the kids got here.

The employees/volunteers were very informative. They dressed in period clothing and spoke of the families that had once owned the log cabin.

This is a great place for young children or anyone who wants to get a glimpse of old Fort Worth. There a lots of hands on activities and the village id located near the excellent Fort Worth Zoo so you could do both in the same day.

I took my girls (ages 9 and 12) here one morning after my younger daughter discovered it online. It's really close to a lot of the other tourist attractions in Fort Worth like the zoo and the Botanical Gardens. As soon as we arrived, we knew we were going to have a great time. The staff was extremely friendly and... More

Pleasantly surprised by the collection of log houses. Learned a lot about life in Texas in the mid 1800's. Staff were courteous and very knowledgeable.

I took my kids over Christmas break. They had a great time learning about the pioneer era. Various types of cabins were brought in and restored and filled with relics and information to give each visitor the feeling like they're back in the late 1800's. The main house is beautiful, along with smaller homes, a smokehouse, a school, herb garden,... More
