The best value in Fort Worth -- IT'S FREE. Amon Carter Museum of American Art. Very impressive small art museum in the Fort Worth Arts district. Went to see the Laura Wilson Photography exhibit "Tales of the American West" and the permanent collection is outstanding! The main focus is the Remington and Russell gallery but the other areas include Thomas... More

This is a great western art museum. It is free admission, and free is a very good price. There is plenty of art portraying the history of the west (cowboys and indians) as well as American art from our early times as a nation. A relaxed atmosphere that welcomes people of all ages. The security people actually talk so ask... More

Two of the current exhibits are very worth seeing. Indigenous Beauty - Masterworks of American Art (Diker collection) has a wonderful variety of art - clothing, beadwork, pottery, and more conventional art. The pieces are really lovely. Laura WIlson (mother of Luke and Owen) is a brilliant photographer. She has been at work in Mexico, Texas, and other parts of... More

Mrs. Wilson is a professional in her own right in addition to being the mother of 2 celebrities. Much of this exhibition covers her work in such varied areas as American ranching/cowboys; Hutterite life in Montana; rugged areas of Mexico, New Mexico and West Texas, and small-town high school football (6-man teams). I found the detail fascinating and often spent... More

Love the Remingtons! That alone is reason enough to come here. But there is so much more with the photos and paintings and statues. Check out the O'Keeffe's and Sargent's as well as the native american artwork.
