Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Girl trip. Just walking in, the smell of yummy bbq makes your mouth water. Ribs were perfect. Great service too.

First of all this business only accepts cash, which blows my mind in this day and age. They have an ATM machine, but then your bank will charge a fee. The bbq beef and sausage was good but the cole slaw and potato salad was bland and mediocre. Definitely not worth the prices. I did like the cool open bbq pit inside the place. Just be prepared to come out smelling like BBQ.

Enjoyed that experience. It was a long journey with friends and family. When we arrived it was packed with people. It was best BBQ experience brisket and meats.... They don’t serve liquor . But they have a winery next door . We enjoyed the life music and songs outside . It is a nice experience a must . I will certainly do it again.

Nice feature is you can buy drinks and take them into the restaurant - on the poorer side of things I didn't rate their wines, tastings are a bit pricey and little to entertain any children

Our first evening in the Dripping Springs and to be able to have a wine tasting at 7:30 at night after dinner next door was great. The lady and gentleman behind the counter were knowledgeable, friendly and had some nice wine too.

We stopping here for lunch and really enjoyed sitting outside and listening to Morgan Ashley sing. She is amazing. We called our food order in ahead of time which was a great recommendation. It was hot when we were there, but they have a ton of fans outside and plenty of shade. I would definitely recommend it and would go back next time I'm in Texas!

The Salt Lick Cellars is located adjacent to the world famous Salt Lick BBQ. Located in Hill Country of Driftwood Texas, it is truly a picturesque location. If you are anywhere in the Central Texas or Austin area this is a must stop destination. The Wine's that they produce are absolutely amazing and the grounds to enjoy them are extraordinary. The abundance of large picnic tables under gigantic Shady oak trees, creates an atmosphere that can't be beat. They also have very exclusive Niche seating with rustic tables and lighting, water fountains, and beautiful landscaping. everywhere.

After eating delicious bbq next door my wife and I decided to do a little wine tasting. A charming western style building houses the wine tasting room. There are little items for sale like candles and honey.

I tasted a few where one was too tangy for me but did pick up a bottle of Salt Lick Cellars BBQ White.

Outside will find tables under huge oak trees and games to play like bocce ball. This place is designated as over 21. Besides wine they sell buckets of beer bottles to enjoy.

The Salt Lick Cellars and restaurant are well worth the ~30 min trip outside of Austin. The cellars offer a 5 wine tasting for $12 and there are a variety of whites and reds to choose from. The rose and dessert wine selection is limited. I loved the Hill Country Red Blend as well as the Sangiovese red. Not a white fan but my friends found one (can’t remember the name) that was crisp and possibly one of the best whites they’ve tasted. The staff at the cellars were nice and attentive and the overall ambience of the Salt Lick ranch is just fabulous, especially when the weather is good. It was a cool but sunny day so we were able to sit outside and enjoy the area. Highly recommend, and don’t skip on the bbq while you’re there, it’s equally as good!
