We decided to check out the town square of Denton for the first time and headed straight for the courthouse. Very easily identified, sitting quite stately in the middle of town. Had to drive around the block to find a parking spot, no meter, but make sure you heed signage to back in on some of those diagonal spots down... More

I never realized how many cool "artifacts" are inside the courthouse on the square. I took my son to the square to catch Pokemon, because they are all around the courthouse, but we went inside and were impressed by all the facts and Memorabilia.

I was there the other night. Several Poke Stops and a lot of people playing Pokemon Go. It's really fun. We stopped and got an ice cream at the local favorite ice cream parlor on the square. Denton square has no chains! It's all about local businesses. Check it out.

Exhibits are well designed and informative and are changed often to make a second visit worthwhile. The Courthouse has also been beautifully restored, be sure to see the courtroom that is still in use by the country commissioners.

Nice place to visit, you will certainly find historical information about the town, agriculture, other historical places, founders, etc. Sad to see that people have placed Pokemon figures in the windows of this beautiful Courthouse. :(

What a classic to still be able to enter and walk the halls of this grand old courthouse build back in the days when they didnt use plastic and Chinese sheetrock. The museum is very interesting and the Commissioners Court on the second floor is worth the stair climb.

I brought my grandkids for a quick visit to see the historic structure. However, I was disappointed to find out they had walled off the old jail cell that used to be in the basement. That must have happened a while ago because the security guard was completely unaware it had ever been there.
