Thanks-Giving Square is a place that inspires gratitude and honors the great American and world traditions of thanksgiving. Designed in 1976 by architect Philip Johnson, this island of serenity in the heart of downtown Dallas contains a landscaped meditation garden with cascading fountains and a chapel open to people of all faiths and traditions. Gabriel Loire's dramatic "Glory Window" and Norman Rockwell's "Golden Rule" mosaic are highlights of the art collection on display. Throughout the year Thanks-Giving Square hosts an array of events, exhibitions, and community celebrations that promote the spirit and unifying value of giving thanks. Visitor guide available in English, Spanish, Chinese, French, Russian, Arabic. Braille/tactile signage available. The garden is open from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. every day. Due to long-term renovation projects, hours of indoor facilities vary and are subject to change (check the website for the latest information). Chapel of Thanksgiving: Open 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday; Open 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday; Closed Tuesday. Hall of Thanksgiving (museum and bookshop): Open by special appointment only. Please call or email to inquire.

This tiny park situated in downtown Dallas is packed with features. These include the Thanks-Giving bells, spiral chapel and a pretty water feature. A good place to take a few photos.

The chapel is beautiful and the location is great, however, it is across from a residential area and the smell of dog pee is overwhelming. Could be a lot better if people cleaned up after their pets.

Thanksgiving Square is a beautiful place in downtown Dallas. On Sundays, they have a church service for the homeless community of downtown Dallas and it's amazing to watch all the people who come to worship and come to eat and just everyone being together.

This is some neat architecture if your within walking distance, would not recommend as a destination though.

This is a cute little church, in a surprising shape next to the sky scrapers. it is worth taking a look inside at the beautiful painted windows.

The square is well worth a visit, but don't let the strange, spiral building fool you. Go inside and you'll see that the strange ceiling is made up of a spiraling stained glass window that's WELL worth a visit. Go during the middle of a...More

This is a lovely little public place in the middle of a busy city. My 3* reflects the face that for some reason half the park was dedicated to a 'temporary dog relief area' which was covered in dog poo!!!

Please find a few moments to visit this calming oasis. The chapel's stained glass ceiling alone is worth a short detour from your otherwise busy day. The architecture and lay-out are also noteworthy; however the grounds looked like they could use a bit of TLC....More

Under restoration but still mostly accessible, Thanks Giving Square is a nice attempt to remind us of the simple act of appreciation of our blessings and the many ways mankind has of expressing it. It is right smack in the middle of the busy downtown...More
