I had the opportunity to wander around this area at 9pm at night on a Wednesday and there was eerily no one on the streets except me. Election fever concerns I’m guessing? It was indeed a somber stark memorial to a great leader.

Came here expecting more. For such a legacy of JFK, I expected something more elaborate. But once you go inside, it gets noticeably quiet. Definitely a somber place, but a simple memorial. A sign of the times back then I guess, so maybe it's fitting.

I hate seeing negative reviews about this memorial. Mrs Jackie wanted it built to reflect how she felt the day her husband was killed. She felt empty, ugly, and hollow inside. This memorial was built to represent her feelings of her husband’s death.

Met up with Arthur Johnson, very informative, giving multiple perspectives on the events from that fateful day. He is entertaining and patient with questions from the most inquisitive 13 year old. You do of course compensate his time, but it is very reasonable. Museum was closed, but this was a great walking tour taking about an hour.

We went as a group. Met Arthur Johnson. He was our “guide”. He was AMAZING. Kept 5 teenage girls enthralled for 40 minutes. Gave us all so many different perspectives on what ACTUALLY happened. Of course you compensate him for his time. But it’s worth it. Definitely seek him out.
