About
The Caloundra Headland Memorial Walkway was dedicated as a War Memorial on Remembrance Day 1995. The walkway extends from Kings to Shelly Beaches. Along the walkway there are many sites dedicated to the memory of those that contributed to the defence of Australia. This is a relatively easy walk showcasing the coastline whilst providing places to pause and reflect on those who served our nation. Veterans' families and loved ones can now easily locate their plaques on the Memorial Walkway. Please select 'Visit Website' on this page to view instructions on how to find a plaque on the Memorial Walkway.

Staying at Golden Beach we utilise the wide path way that allows access to all who wish to walk, run, bike, roller blade, utilise mobility scooter, wheel chairs and whatever else you wish to traverse the lengthy of the path. An excellent walkway from Kings Beach Headland, Caloundra to Golden Beach then along to Jensen Park, Pelican Waters. Changing scenery and views along the entire walkway, which we thorough enjoy over about 7 to 8 km's.

The trail is full of rubbish. Plastic walking trail, to be precise. There are encouraging signs, like good views, but filth and bad smell makes this walk unbearable.

The walking tracks and boardwalk are well maintained and suitable for all ages. There are good climbs over Caloundra Head and Moffat Head for those more energetic.

We go walking most days along this walk, it's a great way to get some exercise and see what's happening.

A good quality pathway although there is a couple of edge drop offs near ANZAC park on Victoria Tce, I have personally observed three separate incidents of walkers stepping onto the path edge (to make way for bike riders or other walkers) and lose balance as the mown grass edge is aligned with the concrete edge but not solid ground. Twisted ankle, grazed knee and shock surprise as the various walkers tumbled to the ground. There is an unexpected pathway curve around a tree right at the ANZAC park sign that has collected one bike rider as it is not noticeable on the pathway due to its angle of placement.
On the PLUS side the Osprey nest is a busy sight to behold early morning and mid to late afternoon as the Osprey bring in quite large fish to their nest at the top of a Norfolk Island pine, and the hatchlings put up quite a noisy raucous demanding food.
During September it is quite likely that a whale will spend hours in the sea lanes slapping the water surface and breaching just off the cliff at ANZAC park.
Late afternoon will usually reveal a blue tongue sunning along the path fence line in Victoria Terrace or a water dragon in the garden bed near the surf club at Kings Beach.
Sunsets over the Glasshouse Mountains are visually pleasing from the Victoria Terrace stretch.
The sea lanes are busy day and night with Container ships, etc and come in quite close at ANZAC park. After Coral Sea war exercises there is also warships passing by.

This scenic coastal walk was a great way to end the day on a weekend getaway with my wife. It has well defined pathways, a boardwalk, shaded trees and even areas to just "drink in the view" or take a photograph. It is peaceful, relaxing, easily accessible via car and there are plenty of car parks nearby and cafes to stop should you want a drink or some food to eat. Enjoyable for both young and old!

There is no better way to start the day, than an early morning walk along the coastal walk from Bulcock Beach, Caloundra to Kings Beach.
The colourful skies are beautiful and there are plenty of places to stop and take photographs.
There are some great Cafes at Kings Beach to stop at and have breakfast before you return to Caloundra
This is an easy flat walk and well worth the early morning start

The coastal walk is fabulous. There are shady paths and boardwalks that weave their way along the coastline.
