Of course in winter, this place was empty, but it was a pleasant place to camp. The bathroom/showers were clean and well maintained. The hiking was minimal but interesting and the scenery around the lake was beautiful.

We did the trail which is about a mile but it only goes to a parking area then you walk back for another mile. Not very interesting. Quite prickly. $4 each person.

This isn't the prettiest park in the Texas parks system, but if you've never hiked around cacti or rattlesnakes, you might find it interesting in a cowboy and Indian sort of mindset. Do not recommend hiking when it's hot out as there is little cover....More

I had signed 5 of us up to have some fun on Kayaks, we were supposed to be there at the park by 10 am. Well due to the fact that I could not get my group moving fast enough, we were one hour late....More

Beautiful park and lake. Cabins are clean, remodeled, and comfy. HIghly recommend this park to campers.

...it was the only thing available for spring break camping in the area, so it was a good find. There is free firewood near the park entrance and the rangers seem friendly. It was not crowded at all. Fires are allowed only in fire rings...More
