Possum Kingdom is a gem of a camping destination. Initially we booked a spot in the premium section, but as soon as we saw it, we wanted to change. Fortunately for us, they had openings in one of the "water only" sections, and for $10,...More

I have stayed at this hotel several times. It is very clean and rooms are spacious. Breakfast was good. The lady at the desk was very kind, friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Low key with very little amenities surrounding the park. Perfect for night sky photography! It feels like youre driving nowhere going in but once at the park you feel welcome and safe. You get the best of both worlds. Youre out in the middle of...More

I havn't been outdoor camping in many, many years. I'm so happy I chose Possum Kingdom State Park for my first time in adulthood. It's an extremely beautiful area via a lake nestled between hills. Our campsite included amenities such as covered picnic tables, a...More

I enjoyed the view all the way from Ranger/Caddo and the winding roads from its main entrance.Beautiful lake park that is a great relaxing hideaway for families. The covered picnic tables are sparsely distributed in between the lake and the roadside parking area---all for free...More

We got to stay in a cabin. Everything was within walking distance. The swimming area was perfect. The fishing was excellent the park personnel were friendly. Watch out for the fire ants. They are pretty aggressive here.

Read the reviews, decided to go, a quietish spot, but very little to do. For a day trip, a little disappointing. Very little apart from the lake.

Hi. Am visiting this place on June 18th weekend. Is this a good. Will the lake and water be muddy? Which is the best place for tent camping here(water and electricity). I would greatly appreciate if anyone can give pointers on this. I have researched all the website. They do not tel which is the best place to camp or do not see it in reviews too.

From what I could tell, all the improved camping was pretty exposed to the sun and wind. However, it was a pretty lake so you'll probably be fine, if not a little warm.
