The drive along CR 2341 offer spectacular wildflower views in spring. The resort and nature park is off the beaten path but well worth the trip. Beautiful lake views, hiking trails, observatory, restaurant, camping, even a labyrinth, which was a plus in such a serene setting. You can stay on the grounds or make a day trip. Sunset views are... My family and I went here expecting to see lots of wildlife (eagles anyone?)....and we really didn't....we arrived on a Thursday morning and saw that the observatory was closed. It wasn't for viewing birds, but instead...stars. Oops. We clearly did not do our research on this place. It appears to be a resort more than a State Park. There are... More

Scott S, Thank you so much for taking the time to review use and for choosing to visit Canyon of the Eagles Nature Park. We do have lots of different wildlife here at the park, and we really do apologize that you did not get to see anything besides the deer and vultures. The Eagles have not been spotted since... More

Absolutely beautiful location, quiet other than the sounds of nature. Lovely rooms and very good food. With all that, the highlight for me was the staff in the restaurant. In particular a young man named Zohan Who went way above and beyond any type of normal fabulous service. I commend the canyon of the eagles for hiring someone of this... More

We enjoyed bringing our kids here when they were younger. We stayed probably at least four times. We would either book the vanishing Texas River Cruise, or a fishing trip on the lake. I would check ahead as the Lake level has been inconsistent as of late. At Night we would enjoy a meal at the restaurant. The food is... More

You make a beautiful drive up a mountain and as you enter you see beautiful buildings for your stay. The greeting center is educational and the staff were helpful. The property is beautiful and they have stargazing activities.

Will I remember great vistas at my COTE stay-yes. Will I remember an efficient, organized, detail oriented, top quality service culture- not even close. I have no idea why Caliber has the front desk stretched so thin on a holiday weekend or the restaurant service is very friendly but seems to have beginner skills with regard to standard ordering and... Very nice and limited space for camping. Tent sites are very large and private with no electricity. The RV sites are rather close but can accommodate large rigs. The cabins are high above Lake Buchanan with wonderful sunset views. Very quant and quiet park.

We stayed at Canyon of the Eagles and hiked all of the trails that were open during the month of August. If you go online, you can see where some of the trails (actually about 50% of them) are closed March - August due to mating season for certain birds. However, we went out for a couple of hours two... Our trip to this Resort and Natural Preserve was well worth the drive. The grounds were beautiful with trails covered with wild flowers with Lake Buchanan peaking out from time to time. The facility was outstanding; the beds comfortable (even the pillow) and the view from our room overlooking the lake spectacular. The food was outstanding too on a Wednesday... More
