We wanted to see the lighthouse on Lake LBJ. At the end of a residential road and a short walk, we found it. Not much to speak of as it looks more like a monument than a lighthouse. There was damage to an emblem on two sides of the structure. A bit of a disappointment but the lake was beautiful... More

Lake LBJ's greatest advantage is you don't need to worry about drought - the LCRA doesn't like to call it "constant level" (rather it's a pass-through lake), but the fact is that it's maintained within a very small elevation range, so few hazards need seasonal monitoring - if your boat won't hit it this spring, it won't in mid-summer either.... Lake LBJ is huge and constant level which was a blessing the last few years of drought. This year brought torrential rains and the flood waters made the lake a little murkier than normal but it is beginning to clear. We love the water sports we now have in our backyard, boating, fishing, jet skiing, tubing and skiing. I see... More

Always a fun time! water can get pretty busy but it is a big lake. Pack your own lunch and beverages - gas, food and stuff is pretty hard to come by out on the lake.

Our family of five has gone to lake LBJ each summer for the past 5 years to join up with other members of our extended family. We stay in the Horseshoe Bay area. Great swimming from the rent house and great boating on the lake. It is advisable to avoid the weekend if you can because it is pretty crowded... More

The advantage of this lake is that it is a constant level lake, and you can cruise up and down towards the Colorado river or up by Horseshoe Bay to see the "mansions".

Our friends took us boating for the day...LBJ"S seem to have all the amenities necessary for boating and then some...this is a Texas sized lake for sure..beautiful amenities and scenery. We went on Monday in Sept of 2012 and we were one of maybe three other boaters, there was very little wind so we enjoyed glassy conditions making for perfect... More

We love Lake LBJ as it's an annual location to meet for our family reunion. We use a private boat ramp and only ski and tube. I've heard the fishing is good.

This lake was slightly above average. It was extremely crowded on the weekends which made wake boarding nearly impossible. The houses on the lake were beautiful on both the very north and south ends.

Lake LBJ is a beautiful, large, constant level lake along the chain of lakes made up by dams along the Texas Colorado River. You have Lake Buchanan at the north, then Inks Lake, then Lake LBJ, then Lake Marble Falls, then Lake Travis, then Lake Austin and then Lady Bird Lake in downtown Austin. These lakes make up what is... More
