We made reservations 90 days in advance for one of the five full hook-up campsites. Once you pass through the village of Brackettville, its 25 miles until the Park turnoff and then another 3.5 miles to the Park Headquarters. Roads are narrow but in good...More

It's a nice enough place. It's off the beaten path - thus it's charming and quiet reputation. Great night skies. Pleasant enough place. Nice hiking trails though very short and limited variety. The bat cave is fun. A couple of the rangers are awesome.

Forgive the pun, but a big draw of this park is watching the evening bat flights when they are in season. They are amazing, and you get so close to the bats that from kids to seniors, everyone is entertained. Add in that the park...More

Neat to see the bat cave and some wonderful hiking. Great TX views. I do believe they have camp sites and camper hook ups.

Kickapoo cavern is the most natural cavern I've yet to visit in Texas... No manicured walkways, no lighting setups, no guardrails, no fancy stairways, just a cave. This cavern is known for its thick, large and tall pillars which were formed by stalactites and stalagmites...More

I would have to say this place has some gorgeous views!! Quiet, and clean. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Remote location. We really enjoyed our time at this state park. And watching the bats come out was a sight to see!!

A awesome gem! Staff is very friendly. Took the cave tour and it was awesome. We loved watching the bats at night and Ranger Ron had a awesome talk just before the bats emerged. Cell phones don't work. Which is perfectly fine with me.
