The hike was really pretty with wildflowers everywhere. It was quite rocky the entire way which made it a little difficult. The trail near the falls is strenuous so if you're not up for a challenge, or if you have bad knees you may want...More

This was an amazing short hike. I was shocked how many people did not bring water. We spoke to the ranger and he mentioned how they have to save people daily. However, we had a blast, it was absolutely beautiful, and totally worth going.

The Gorman Falls trail is rated as challenging on the trail info for Colorado Bend State Park, and it definitely was at parts. It's a 1.5 mile trail both ways, and it takes about 45-50 minutes each way to complete. The first half of the...More

About a 1 1/2 mile hike on rocks and hills, can go on road for some of the hike, but that route is over 2 mikes. The last 50 feet us very steep, they have cable handrails for that area. Don't think handicap could make...More

Gorman Falls is a legitimate water fall located in Texas. It is located at a state park and you need to drive past the exit for the falls to pay for admittance. There is a long hike (1 hr) over very rocky terrain and you...More

We did this hike around 10am with 3 kids ages 12, 11, and 4. We each had our own water jug. My husband carried a pack with trail mix, extra water, and cooling towels. The temp was around 80-90 degrees. Most of this hike isn't...More

Gorman Falls trail is very rocky. Wear hiking boots if possible to avoid twisted ankles. Much of the trail is open to the sun, so forewarned, water is a good idea (the Park sets out water coolers at the trail head). The final 150 meters...More

The hike to the falls is nice until you get to the part of the trail just above the falls, then it's steep and the rocks are very slippery. I'm sure a seasoned hiker would have o problem. It's a little scary for us novices....More

Our son recommended this excursion to us when we told him we were hiking in the hill country. It was 1.5 hours out of our way. What a treat and so worth the drive (and hike)! We never knew such extraordinary beauty existed right here...More

I saw a dog that made the hike during my trip. The end of the hike is very steep and the "steps" between rocks is pretty tall. There are ropes for you to hold on to during the steepest parts, which could make it difficult to... More

Yes great thing about our state parks pretty much open 365, the falls may not be going though I think spring is a better time. We will be there over Christmas this year so I'll post again. 😁 Happy trails!
