Very informative. Only takes less than 30 minutes. Sad and very touching. Take your children so they can begin to understand the horrors of what evil can do if given a chace.

I've wanted to visit this site for a while. It hits one in the gut but leaves you with hope for the future. Both the students and teachers did a wonderful job with this.

Stopped by this incredible hidden historical memorial on route to Nashville. I highly recommend it. Be sure to bring a paper clip to show your support.

Near the entrance to the School A Holocaust memorial , very impressive, simple but very touching, the initiative of schools and pupils, the idea is that they collect 6 million paper clips pins, a symbol for the 6 million- Jewish victims in World War 2, Everything is presented in a train car that was brought from Germany, explanatory signs around... We watched the movie Paper Clips and had to go to this off-the-beaten-path place. It was very interesting to see this memorial which teachers, students, and others made possible as a remembrance of their project to collect 6 million paper clips (they collected over 40 million) to remember the holocaust.

Arriving an hour early for the Buttonwillow Civil War Dinner Theater, we searched for something else to do in this small town. We discovered the Children's Holocaust Museum. It is housed in an authentic box car that transported Jews and others opposing Nazi Germany. An audible narration describes how the museum came about. Not to be a spoiler, gem clips... More

The paperclips these children collected and the cattle car that they're in hits you in the gut. It's very moving.

This collection of over 30 million paperclips was started in 1998 as a way to help Whitwell Middle School students grasp the concept of the numbers of people exterminated. The rail car houses 11 million clips, one for each victim. The purpose of this Memorial is to demonstrate perseverance, empathy, tolerance and respect. When you are in eastern Tennessee, take... The children of Whitwell Middle/Elementary School have something to be very proud of. A wonderful, informative library and genuine rail car that was used to transport the Jews to concentration camps. When you see the massive piles of millions of paper clips, it's unfathomable that each one represents a human life lost in the tragedy. The library holds some artifacts,... More
