Ive been to several riding stables and have to say this was the worst. The older lady was very rude and didnt know much about horses, which is very important if you are running or working at a stables. The poor horses were under weight...More

We were hesitant to go on an unguided ride but glad every other place was "closed for the season". The owners at Next to Heaven are so friendly and helpful. We have some riding experience but don't ride very often. Who needs a guide when...More

I took my daughters and their friend for a horseback ride this afternoon and we had a great time. I saw this place on the way back to our cabin from Cade's Cove and what was appealing to me was that it was an unguided...More

We visited during December when other stables had closed for the season. Comparing this experience to past experiences at other stables, I felt a bit disappointed. The horses did not seem well-cared for and the cost was quite a bit more than other stables in...More

This was truly an amazing, memorable experience. The owners are warm & welcoming with true southern hospitality. I was able choose the horse I wanted to ride, a beautiful black & white American Paint. Hubby was on the lead horse. We got to experience the...More

Highly recommended! No guide! No helmet required! Staff were friendly and they do not combine groups. The horses were calm, well behaved and obedient. The horses know the trail well! And the ride was not just for beginners - steep slopes up and down. This...More

We are both experienced riders so we wanted an unguided ride, because we thought it would be more fun without a group of people being with us. The staff was super friendly. The ride was about an hour and while we was on the overlook,...More

We were there in April and my daughter and I rode without a guide. They advertise they are guideless, horses know where to go. It’s a nice trail, pretty scenery, great people. I. Sure you’ll enjoy it.

They really want to go at their own pace. Also the workers want you to let them go at their own pace. We took our time and someone came up the hill to find out why we were taking so long. We also galloped a little.

We did not notice a weight limit. You would have to check with them about that. The price was $40, for self guided tour. We took our time and enjoyed every bit of the ride.
