The GPS led me a bit astray and finding the visitor's center proved a challenge to me. The history of the lake, being created by an earthquake fascinates me. The cypress trees are beautiful. The visitor center proper is older in style, but they have some live beasties on display (wounded/saved birds and snakes). The boardwalk goes into the lake... More

My wife and I recent went to Reelfoot Lake to see the Eagles (no, not a concert - the REAL eagles). Anyway, we had each been there years ago, but we had not had a guided tour on our first visits. Truly, the best way to see the eagles is with a Tour Guide. Jerry was very pleasant, friendly and... More

A cold winter up north will shoo about 200 Bald Eagles to Reelfoot during Jan - Feb. If it's not cold up north, they don't come. About 35 resident couple Eagles live there and many are easy to find. In the rest of the year, come take a boat ride, go fishing, duck hunting in the winter months, just a... More

It has been almost 40 years since I had visited Reelfoot Lake. On this occasion, we were attending the 13th Annual Bald Eagle Festival. We had 2 other couples with us. Beyond a doubt, it was one of the most interesting, fun, and educational days we have spent in sometime. Reelfoot Lake itself is a great history lesson, being formed... More

I grew up close to Reelfoot Lake and after about 30 years, I took my kids for a side day trip a couple weeks ago. We started out at the Visitor Center at the State Park. We looked at the literature inside before venturing out back to the Rehab Raptor Center. When we were there they had 3 Bald Eagles,... More

The lake is a really beautiful and unusual area. The park is in several different areas along the lake. There are several places to launch a boat and several boardwalks to get a good view of the lake. The visitors center has several cages with owls, eagles, etc. inside you can view the history of the lake and several snakes.... More

We didn't have a lot of time to explore the area like we wanted. We would love to go back one day. The area is beautiful and the history of the lake is neat. Would love to go back and see some eagles!

The history of Reelfoot Lake is intriguing. The actual visitors center needs some TLC. The surrounding businesses and restaurants likely saw their prime in the 1980's. The boardwalk near the visitors center is kinda neat and is a great way to get an up close look at the Cypress trees.
