Wheatlands Plantation was established in 1791. And is the location of the revolutionary war site "The Battle of Boyd's Creek." The present day plantation house was occupied during the Civil War as a field house and winter camp. In all honesty, I can't say that I liked it, But it is a very interesting old Plantation. Some of the family really liked it. If you Like history and old places you would Probably like it. It is kind of like being in School class and the guides are like Professors. They are very nice and very Knowledgeable.

We love historical homes and ghost stories, and this was a great combination of the two! Richard and John (and their big fluffy sweet kitty) were so welcoming and have done a great job restoring this historic home and digging up its history. We look forward to keeping up with them to see what is to come!!

Wasn't what I expected and I am sure happy it wasn't!!! Richard & John the proprietors were knowledgable , fascinating and charming. They knew the history of not only the plantation owners , but the slaves, Indians , land , buildings , revolutionary war battles and civil war battles. And if that isn't enough, the ghosts that haunt and why.... More

Looking for things to do while on vacation in the area. Did the Paranormal tour and for the price per person was a bit disappointed. Outside presentation was near the highway and drowned out the speaker. Some pretty good interesting stories of deaths in the house and people buried in the basement.
