The children's area has a wonderful tribute to a local pupetteer and there are changing exhibits in a gallery on the ground floor, but the reading rooms are beautiful. Worth a visit for a little quiet time.

I love libraries, so I always look at the local ones. The Nashville Public Library is located downtown. It has one and sometimes two exhibits. The gallery exhibit area is a well lit perimeter for a wall space exhibit. The one we visited (until May 2017), "In Plain View" is a solo artist photo exhibit of structures with historical connections,... More

Were in downtown Nashville on a Sunday. Lots of things were closed in the downtown area, but were pleasantly surprised to find that the library was open. The Civil Rights exhibit is on the 2nd floor of the library and is very interesting. It isn't a huge exhibit, but it is very powerful.

Be sure to visit the Courtyard, Reading Room, and the Art Gallery. This would be worthy of an entry fee, but there is not one! Try to make it on a day when... More

The architecture alone is reason to visit this beautiful building in downtown Nashville. Art shows add to the ambience and the interior design is breathtaking.

I am fortunate enough to work around the corner from this beautiful city library. I go here often at lunch to check out books, or, sometimes just eat out in the courtyard. Large selections of books. I love it here!

Just happened to stumble upon the library while walking around downtown.....and ended up spending an hour there. Beautiful marble staircase, interesting exhibits...and be sure to check out the Civil Rights Room. Very educational.

I love the downtown library! The selection of books, MP3 playaways, lunch time speakers, exhibits, and activities are impressive. The staff is informative and very helpful is you cannot locate something physically or electronically. Impressive architecture with beautiful bronze doors. Go get your free library card today!
