Overview
More
Radnor Lake State Park is a 1,332-acre park and is protected as a Class II Natural Area. It is unique due to the abundance of wildlife viewing opportunities, environmental education programs, hiking opportunities and its location in an urban area. The park is day-use only and the more than six miles of trail are strictly used for hiking, photography and wildlife observation. Pets, jogging and bicycles are only allowed on the Otter Creek Road trail. The Lake Trail is accessible to people with all-terrain wheelchairs. The park is perfect for nature enthusiasts to observe owls, herons and water fowl as well as many species of amphibians, reptiles and mammals such as mink and otter. Hundreds of species of wildflowers, mosses, fungi, ferns and other plants as well as trees, shrubs and vines add to the natural ecological diversity of the area. Several ranger-led programs are planned throughout the year including canoe floats, wildflower walks, astronomy night hikes, nature hikes, programs on snakes, off-trail land acquisition hikes and birds of prey.

Came here for a run with a friend, the place is beautiful and we regularly saw all sorts of wildlife. Had been running for a few kilometres before we ran into a park ranger who said we couldn't run in the forest... Didn't know that...More

This is a nice place to take a walk or a hike. It's just south of downtown. There are several trails of various length and difficulty. It's pretty any time of year, especially during the fall when the leaves turn. You always see wildlife here,...More

Radnor Lake is one of our go-to places. The wildlife, the lake and the well-kept paths keep us coming back. It is the perfect length of an easy hike for a Sunday morning. If we feel like doing a little more strenuous hike, the ridge...More

We were in Nashville for a wedding and wanted to get away from the city for a day and this was the perfect choice. Great walking/hiking paths and lots of birds and wildlife to see.

Many hikes to choose from. Easy to more difficult. Lots of wildlife to be seen on the easy trail around the reservoir. We saw water fowl, owl, deer.

Even though many others will be sharing the paths, you will find this natural area well worth visiting. You may end up sharing the path with a strutting tom turkey and barred owls are often seen. Joggers are, fortunately, prohibited.

Thanks for the review, Doug. It's a beautiful place and sanctuary for a wide variety of animals. We hope you will come back again!

What a nice walk, even on a cool and breezy morning. The forest literally full of birds, would get quite close. The walking path reaches the lake from time to time, but definitely it is a good forest walk first

Radnor Lake State Park was about a twenty minute drive from downtown Nashville. There is a short trail around the lake that is very pretty and an easy walk. There were a lot of people with small children and babies. There is a nice loop...More
