Add some exotic to the everyday with Nashville Zoo at Grassmere. Wander...

Add some exotic to the everyday with Nashville Zoo at Grassmere. Wander through a lush canopy of bamboo, come face to face with a clouded leopard, feed some Australian parrots, and delve into the far reaches of the Amazon. Nashville Zoo is your ticket to African giraffes, poison arrow frogs, zebras, red pandas, kangaroos, gibbons, meerkats and much more!

Children of all ages will be fascinated with the zoo’s Highlighted Habitats. Find out why a baby giraffe likes warm temperatures. Walk the winding path through 4,500 square feet of naturalistic Australian landscape in the Kangaroo Kickabout. In the Kickabout, you will be in the home of a troop of red kangaroos. Keep your eyes and ears open for the cockatoos that also live in Kangaroo Kickabout.

In between your animal adventures, be sure to take a spin on our Wild Animal Carousel, get a new view of the Zoo from Soaring Eagle zip line, monkey around our 66,000-square-foot Jungle Gym, or even step back in time on the walking tour at our Grassmere Historic Home and Farm. When you visit the 1810 historic home, you will learn about the name “Grassmere” and how the zoo came to be located there.

This is a small zoo but worth the visit. You ask why? Where else can you go into an enclosure with kangaroo's and actually pet one! I did and it was great! Besides this attraction the zoo was clean and very manageable to walk.

Had a great time visiting. Took the kids around the park and they enjoyed it. Weather wasn't too hot in the summer.

My kids loved the turtle and going in where the prairie dogs were. The playground for eating lunch is out of this world.

This is where we bring out of town guests with children and families who want a nice touch of the assorted animals.

We love the Nashville Zoo! There are some fun ways to actually interact with the animals...including the possibility of petting kangaroos. We just wish the expansion and new exhibits had gotten completed before our membership expired.

Hello Tracy! Thank you for your support through a Nashville Zoo membership and sharing your feedback. We understand the frustration with our construction progress, but we have projected openings for 2017 and can't wait to introduce Nashville to a few amazing new animals. Please email our membership team at membership@nashvillezoo.org to discuss your current membership! More

Went to the Nashville Zoo with my wife and we had a terrific time. The various animals were breathtaking. A personal favorite were the kangaroos. You walked into their exhibit and were able to touch them when they got on the path. The African exhibit was under construction so the Elephants were not present but that was not a deal... More

Fabulous zoo with lots to see. Even though it is small (compared to say the Detroit Zoo), the exhibits are wonderful and educational. Interactive opportunities and lots of staff available to answer questions about the animals.

Our first visit to the Nashville zoo - the Frozen Lemonade saved the day on the sultry afternoon. Seemed a bit overpriced but enjoyable. Two areas were under construction - the children's playground was magnificent - too tired to tour the house but hope to return on a cooler day to enjoy the entire grounds.
