Belle Meade Plantation is a non-profit historic site located in Nashville, TN. Established in 1807, Belle Meade was revered as the greatest thoroughbred stud farm in the United States. It was home to Iroquois, the first American bred horse to win the Epsom Derby and the great foundation sire,Bonnie Scotland, whose descendants include Secretariat, Seattle Slew, Native Dancer, Big Brown and California Chrome. Belle Meade was owned and operated by the Harding-Jackson family for nearly a century from 1807 until 1906. Today their home is restored to its turn of the century appearance along with several original outbuildings.

Two couples of us toured your facility. We were very disappointed in not being allowed to take pictures inside the building.. Why did you think we attended?

We had a fantastic tour guide, very informative with a great personality. We moved onto a private food and wine tasting and learned so much with Debbie. She was an amazing host! Overall, we were extremely happy with our visit.

We enjoyed Belle Meade. Very informative tour through the house, I could feel the history. After the tour we went out to the garden where we played Bocce Ball, I had never played before. We all had a good time.

Interesting stories, enjoyed the sites and information presented orally and in written form. The docent was knowledgeable, pleasant and dressed to represent the era. The carriage house was wonderful.
