I could have spent easily more than the 2,5 hours we had on our combined tour with Belle Meade. There is the actual Hermitage you get to see with a guide, an exhibition about President Jackson's life and background, souvenir shop, cafe and the grounds around the Hermitage with the cabins. The day was overcast and light rain set in so... More

Even though it was drizzly and cool, we had a wonderful time exploring the history of Andrew Jackson and his family. The guides were fabulous and the property was very well maintained.

Dining room, servants' rooms, food storage and preservation, second floor wrap-around veranda, memorial to Mrs. Jackson, slave quarters, and more...they all reveal a bygone era.

If you love American history this is the place for you! The grounds are beautiful to tour in the spring but wait to long into summer and you will be on fire walking around. My wife and I almost got married here. It is a great place to go with all ages. I remember touring this in fourth grade as... More

I loved touring the grounds of the Hermitage. As a new resident to Nashville, I learned about Andrew Jackson's impact on the city and state. His home was beautiful and his story was ironically so close to the current political climate. As I walked through the house, I tried to imagine his family running up and down the stairs. It's... The Hermitage is a hidden away gem in the Nashville area. The tour guides take you through the house plus there is an audio tour for it all. The grounds are beautiful with so much to see. There is the house, grounds, cabins, garden, well house/mill on creek, cemetery and pasture land that was once inhabited. The trails are in... More

If you are a history of our country buff, then this is a must. This is amazing for school age children to lean how things were and how American's lived by in the day

If you enjoy history and not being rushed, this is a nice tour. Not overly priced compared to some places. We spent just over three hours here. It wasn't crowded, the staff was well informed. In the spring and summer I'm sure the outside gardens and flowers are lovely.
