The facility tour, self guided, took about 2-3 hours where you'll pick up some interesting information about President Andrew Jackson (preferred to be called General). Best to visit in the morning as to escape the heat of the afternoon as there is a bit of...More

If asked, would you guess that Andrew Jackson's Hermitage is the fourth most visited Presidential residence in the United States--after the White House, Mount Vernon and Monticello? Located at 4580 Rachels Lane, 10 miles east of downtown Nashville, Tennessee, of U.S. Route 70, it was...More

Just got home from the Hermitage. Fun place with audio necklaces to wear and listen to. Period dressed docents who are very knowledgeable. Very interesting if you are interested in history.

It was hard not giving this 5 stars, as Jackson is such an icon, if not beloved any longer. The plantation grounds were immense(and a bit tiring to walk in 100 degrees) and his tomb was in a garden so if you have allergies be...More

The price of admission is $20 per person, I feel it could be a little less and families with children should be given a special rate. We started our tour at the visitor center by watching a video about Andrew Jackson, this was very well...More

They sell beverages at several locations so no need to pack your own. The length of the walk is up to you. For just the house and gardens probably less than 1 1/4 miles. Is tour all of the hounds maybe 3 miles?
