When we enquired thirty minutes after ordering our lunch as to how much longer our meals would be - we were told “standard wait time is 45 minutes”. Had we been informed of the “standard 45 minute wait”, when we first arrived, we could have made an informed decision as to whether to stay or leave. When our meals finally arrived - 2 burgers, ciabatta roll and onion rings, it was cold. After waiting for so long with hungry children - sending food back was not an option. Staying close by our friends said a visit to the Holgate Brewhouse was needed. Great setup and very busy. Walking thru the bar/dining area the food looked very good. Time was we couldn't partake. We went into the tasting room and were lucky enough to get a table just vacated. 2 gins and a tasting paddle after a bit of waiting lined up proved very good. Beers were good as were the gins. This looked to me as a gold mine for the owners and the town.…

Had a beer and a glass of wine in the new brewhouse part evidently recently opened. Front old bar was really busy but managed to get a seat outside at the new part. Good beer, reasonable prices. Did not eat but all the food looked good and pleantifull.

Decided to stop in for a late lunch with my husband. The service was terrible! Took a long time to take our drink order which should have been our first sign that the service was going to be incredibly poor. Finally took our lunch order and whilst the lunch came out in a timely manner my husband had the Parma which left a lot to be desired. Following this we finished our meals and wanted a nice dessert however not one person came to ask if we wanted another drink or to order dessert, so we left. Very disappointing!…

The wifi was shocking, they have about 15 different wifi names and none of them work. If you decide to book a rom and stay the night you will have to use your mobile data because the internet doesn’t work all they way up in the room. But overall the food and drinks where very good…
