We booked a $10 one-hour seated tasting, and we were blown away! One hour? It took the best part of two hours to get through the 33 (that’s right 33!) wines on the tasting menu. All accompanied by the Cheese Platter, of course.
Jeff, our sommelier, was wonderful, quickly picking up our taste preferences and explaining the different wines and vintages with humour and style.
And the setting is absolutely beautiful. We had live music playing on the lawns as we enjoyed our wines among the barrels.
I’ve done plenty of wine tastings all over, but this was unquestionably the very best. Thanks guys!
Oh, also, the wines are fantastic! We joined their wine club and picked up more than a couple of cases.

Hello 965JohnR
Wow! What a wonderful review you have written for us at Pfeiffer Wines and in particular for Geoff as your host during your visit. To say this was your "best wine tasting ever done" is an amazing accolade for us to receive. Thank you. Thank you also for joining our wine club. You will find our wine club packs are always terrific value and include some special wines only available to our wine club members.
We look forward to seeing you when we visit Canberra for our Pfeiffer Wines long lunch and also, when we come with Winemakers of Rutherglen later this year.
Till then,
Kind regards,

A visit to Pfeiffer's is a must do when in Rutherglen, such a fabulous winery with 31 wines to choose from. We chose the Easter platter to enjoy with our booked wine tasting experience and were looked after fabulously by Alex and Kylie such fun and knowledgeable ladies. Delightful grounds, beautiful historic winery and Sunday Creek Bridge all add to the enjoyment. Cellar door is pooch friendly and can highly recommend being a wine club member for discount on all wine purchases.

Hello jbelle030,
Thank you for your wonderful review of Pfeiffer Wines when you visited over the Easter weekend. I can imagine the "pfun" you had with Kylie and Alex while you enjoyed the Easter platter and our "pfabulous" wines. Kylie has been with us for 20 years and Alex for a few months. Both are a great asset to our winery Cellardoor and both girls know how to look after our visitors. We are one very "pfortunate" winery.
Hopefully we can catch up with you later this year in Melbourne, when we, as Pfeiffer Wines, come to Melbourne for a long lunch and also with the Winemakers of Rutherglen, for Rutherglen in the City.
Keep an eye out for news soon. Equally, we would love to welcome you back to our beautiful winery.
Thank you again for your review.
Kind regards,
Robyn Pfeiffer.

Upon arrival in Rutherglen, we were greeted by Jane who gave a great experience whilst tasting the wines. Then we enjoyed a picnic hamper by the river with a glass of wine of our choice. Although the food is provided by an external company, it was delicious and there was plenty of it. We were encouraged to feed the many turtles at the bridge with the provided turtle food too!
After a full day wine tour the next day, we still went back to purchase a couple of bottles, it turned out to be one of our favs.

Hello DLF,
Firstly I must apologise for not acknowledging your TA Review earlier. With our Cellardoor closed and no visitors on site, I haven't been checking for reviews and only checked to see what TA were doing when no one is travelling. So you are special. You are our last visitor who said what a great time you had here with us at Pfeiffer Wines. Thank you for that. Jean is a treasure who has been with us for many, many years. We all love her. And our picnic hampers enjoyed in our beautiful and natural Australian bush setting are something that we hope everyone will be able to enjoy again soon. In the meantime, look after yourself, your family and come back and visit when it is ok to move away from home. Keep well and best regards, Robyn Pfeiffer.

Hello Stuart D,
Thank you for sending through a wonderful review about your visit to Pfeiffer Wines over the Easter weekend. We had beautiful weather, a wonderful live performer with Ben Chan, who comes to entertain every Easter weekend and of course our "pfabulous" wines to be enjoyed while you were enjoying everything else.
I know all our Staff are passionate about the wines and love presenting them to our visitors. You are close by so I hope we see you again soon.
Kind regards,
Robyn Pfeiffer.

Probably the veterans in making wines, this winery has more wines (some rare ones too) to its credit than any other veterans from this area.
The staff is extremely knowledgeable and so hospitable.
This winery offers some of the best wines we have tasted from this region.
Jen, her mother and Chris were the most amazing and friendly team we have met in the longest time.

Hello Ozzy-Kunnu,
Thank you so much for your great TA review from when you were able to visit us at Pfeiffer Wines. We can’t wait till you can come back again and I bet you can’t wait to visit again either.
It is so nice what you said about my family and our Staff who are like members of our family too. I often joke about having been very busy having so many children and working in our business too!😇 It is lovely to have others truly value our “pfantastic” Staff. Thank you.
Till next time, enjoy the wines, take care and come back when you safely can.
Kind regards,
Robyn Pfeiffer.

Another stunning experience at Pfeiffer Wines. Tastes of Rutherglen has always been a yearly highlight and Pfeiffers this year excelled. Wonderful family atmosphere and so well executed. With the recent COVID limitations, it was great to be part of regional Victoria again. Was really pleased how the team at Pfeiffers made sure all our safety measures were covered without losing all the warmness we've come to expect. Food, surroundings and service were spot-on and the new vintages even more exciting than we had anticipated. Made a few new friends and bumped into the odd old one too. Really recommend a visit whether it's a return trip or somewhere new to discover. Thanks folks. We'll be back to annoy you soon. Cheers, Phil

How lovely to hear from you again after another “pfabulous” visit to Pfeiffer Wines. The Tastes of Rutherglen Festival is a “pfantastic” time of “pfine pfood” especially when paired with our “pfine” Pfeiffer wines. We look “pforward” to welcoming you back to Rutherglen and to our little patch in Wahgunyah soon.
Kind regards,
Robyn Pfeiffer.

After a great experience in January, we returned to Pfeiffer Wines with a friend and all our kids. We were not disappointed!!! We enjoyed a seated tasting with Robyn and Jen and they guided us through the experience and the wines beautifully. We were focussing on white wines and they were delicious :-) The Chardonnay Marsanne was a particular favourite, perfect to enjoy through winter.
Our kids were well occupied in the gardens, playing in the sandpit and the cubby, and when they wanted to come inside they were made very welcome.
It was very Covid-safe too, with plenty of sanitising stations and space between tasting barrels.
It's on our must-visit list for the Rutherglen region.

Thank you very much for coming back to visit us at Pfeiffer Wines and for bringing your friend and their family with you. I will make sure I show Jen your review. The Chardonnay Marsanne is a Cellar door “pfavourite.” It is a blend we own here at Pfeiffer Wines and the two grape varieties make a beautiful wine together. I call it a “blend of friends”, but I should actually say, “a blend of Pfriends.”
I am glad the children had a good time here too. It is great to see children playing outside and using their imagination. Please bring the families and more friends back any time you can. We are glad you love our little piece of Victoria. We do too.
Kind regards,
Robyn Pfeiffer.

Pfeiffer Wines are located on the banks the mighty Murray River, in the Rutherglen wine region. It'. Pfeiffer has earned an international reputation for producing fine wines, I especially like the fruity whites. The best way to experience Pfeiffer's range is to book a Seated Tasting. It takes around an hour, bookings are essential.

Hello Jeffry b,
Welcome back to Pfeiffer Wines and thank you again for giving us a great TA Review from your latest visit to us here. We love people enjoying the Seated Tasting Experience. It is a good thing that came out of Covid and our Staff love offering this experience for everyone to enjoy. We certainly appreciate it when people book and it guarantees your spot is reserved for you. We try to accommodate people if they don't book but obviously can't guarantee a spot.
Looking forward to your next visit.
Kind regards,
Robyn Pfeiffer.

Pfeiffer has such an extensive list of wines to try. The trading list is very impressive. We arrived on a Tuesday morning and sat right near the fire on such a cool august morning. Gary was our host and he is truly a gem, loved chatting with him and being served our tastings. I loved his passion and enthusiasm. I'm a big fan of frontigniac so I was quite excited to see a bottle on their list. We also thoroughly enjoyed their Shiraz. We walked away with half a dozen bottles and a big smile on our face.

Hello Elizabeth,
Thank you very much for writing your “pfantastic” TA review of Pfeiffer Wines, our wines and our Gary.😊
Gary is our most recent member of Staff and he has already endeared himself to us, his colleagues and our visitors. He certainly loves wine, food and people. I will make sure Gary sees your review.
Do you like Indian food? I think the Frontignac is wonderful to enjoy with Indian curries. I was fortunate to grow up with Indian friends who introduced their gorgeous cuisine to our family. Now, with our Frontignac, nicely chilled, I have discovered the perfect wine.
We look forward to welcoming you back to Pfeiffer Wines when you are able to get back to the “pfamous” Rutherglen wine region. Thank you again.
Kind regards,
Robyn Pfeiffer.

Historic Pfeiffer Wines is a stalwart of the Rutherglen region, which is internationally famous for its wines. In the mid-19th century, this was a gold mining area. When the gold ran out, some enterprising souls turned to producing wine. Some wineries are in the 6th generation of ownership. The vignerons have a deep sense of history. Visitors to Pfeiffers Wines can partake in a Seated Tasting Experience at a minimal cost, and try some award-winning wines.

Hello 619jeffry
Many thanks for your 5star review following your visit to Pfeiffer Wines. Our visitors love the seated wine experience exploring our huge array of wines. Our Sunday Creek Vineyard was originally an experimental plot of many rare and interesting grape varieties which enhances the wine tasting experience at Pfeiffer Wines. Rutherglen is a beautiful wine region to visit and we all hope to welcome you back soon.
Kind regards,
Robyn Pfeiffer.
