- AntipodeanVegetarianMelbourne, Australia28 contributionsExceptional guidance from a passionate wine loverWe had a large family group from Geelong, Melbourne and the United States who decided to visit a winery we knew little about, during quite a full day of tasting experiences in the Rutherglen-Wahgunyah region. We were guided by an exceptional host, Nigel, who is clearly passionate about wine. We learned so much, and the time we spent together was both highly informative and conversational. We unfortunately had a tasting booked at a nearby vineyard, otherwise we would have stayed longer. I strongly suggest that you allow more than one hour for your expertly guided tasting. Cofield have some lovely blends that I have not come across before, and their Prosecco is delightfully refreshing. Known for their sparkling wine, I am confident you will come away from your visit with wine for any occasion, ready to drink right now, and a much better appreciation of food and wine pairings. Thanks to Nigel, and the highly responsive team (communication prior to our visit was very personable and swift) for a wonderful hour. Very highly recommended.Visited January 2023Written 5 January 2023
- Karob_831 contributionsLovely cellar doorWe were 2 couples staying in Corowa to visit the wineries in the area. Cofield was our first stop of the day and Mel made us very welcome. Not only did we taste wines, but we bought some lovely handmade earrings. The sauvignon blanc was my personal favourite but my husband raved about the reds and loved the port. Between him and the other couple, 5L of it went home with us. There are games set out in the garden for kids or the sober designated driver. We can all recommend this place if you are in the area and like wine.Visited March 2023Written 6 March 2023

The meals were sensational…fresh, perfectly cooked & jam packed full of flavour. Paired with the perfect wine made this a lunch to remember. Highly recommend this winery for a meal. The service was also spot on.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 21 October 2023

After an enjoyable tasting of Cofield's wide range of wines, we were very pleased to purchase some brilliant Durifs.

Bron looked after us and we tasted some amazing wines and fortifieds. My favourite was the Sparkling Sarah but they were all great. Lovely grounds to sit back and relax with a bottle or two.

A very pleasant tasting experience at this cellar door. Mostly aiming towards sparkling wines but their still table wines are pretty good too.
All of us purchased wines from this cellar door and would return again if in the regeion.

We visited Cofield Winery for their tasting experience and were blow away by the amazing views, knowledgeable and friendly staff and the great selection of quality wines. The beautiful outside area made a great picnic venue which kept everyone happy in our group.
If you only have time for one winery during your stay do yourself a favour go to Cofield winery, I cannot recommend this place enough!

Cofield Wines is owned and operated by a family with a passion for wine. This boutique winery has a history of over 100 years. Ava Cofield, who has just left highschool, will soon be off to study viticulture. She will be the next generation to join the family firm. Cofield makes some excellent sparkling wines. With winter approaching, it's a great time to makes some mulled wine. For the red wine, Cofield suggests Durif, which is dark, fruity and full-bodied. Add your favourite spices and bring the mixtute to a low simmer. Don't boil it, or you will boil off the alcohol!
