Sorrento at its best
Jan. 2021
Walking distance from our accommodation. Plenty of different walking options in terms of beach and tracks in the bush. Fantastic scenery. Not overly busy and a must do when in the area.

Rock pools galore!
Jan. 2021 • Family
Come at low tide and you’ll be rewarded with the largest rock pools I’ve ever come across.
If the weather is good bring your bathers as part of the beach is manned with life guards or hop in one of the larger rock pools for a swim.
Stairs leading down to the beach are fewer then other spots and plenty of parking.

Place to fill the ocean
Jan. 2021
We visited this place with my family during our Mornington peninsula trip. It is a great place to see the ocean and fill its power, especially if in windy day.

Summer time
Jan. 2020 • Family
The Sorrento back beach is definitely a place to be if you’re with family friends or even to surf by yourself. Plus with amazing walking paths, walking there is also a good experience. Surfers are also recommended to this beach.

Invigorating!
Apr. 2019 • Friends
Wild and windy, the back beach with its stunning coastline views will blow away the cobwebs and make you feel happy to be alive! In direct contrast to the safe and calm Sorrento front beach for dogs and little kids, the crashing waves of the back beach dare any able surfer and swimmer, and the surrounds offer rock pools to explore, tracks for walking, free car parking and a cafe with a great view. Come away from the back beach feeling suitably invigorated! Our regular visits to Sorrento always include time spent at this great spot where nature shows off its finest.

Super busy known for its rock pools
Dec. 2019
The Sorrento Back Beach is just a short drive from the town of Sorrento and it is part of a beautiful piece of coastline looking out to Bass Straight. It is best visited at low tide when you can see the rock pools which it is famous for. We came here during the late afternoon and it was almost impossible to get into the carpark, it was so busy. There is a kiosk and cafe at the beach which was also very busy. To the person who put a review on asking whether it was safe due to the bushfires...Sorrento Back Beach is nowhere near the bushfire area. It is about 4 hours drive away from the East Gippsland area and you should not stay away. People need your business and it is very safe.

Rockpools - Romantic and interesting
Mar. 2019 • Family
This is another place that one should visit if you are in Melbourne. Back beach in Sorrento got Mini Rock pools. But you need to check the tide conditions as these surface only when the tide is low.
