Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Absolutely incredible experience! I went surfing 3 times w/ Salty Surf Schools over the course of a week while I was staying in Lisboa. The instructors and staff are incredible. The price also cannot be beat. Would go back 1000x again! I am officially hooked on surfing thanks to these guys! Also Andres (the owner) was extremely communicative over whatsapp to make sure I know where and when I needed to be for the lesson each morning. Thank you Salty Surf Schools :)

We use Salty Surf School for regular lessons. The kids love the technical advice and equipment perfect for their level. Can’t recommend enough - get out there with Fraser and have fun with the whole family.

Thanks so much to Salty Surf for the most amazing day surfing! It was my first lesson and I was more than a bit apprehensive but Fraser our incredible instructor made me and the other beginners feels relaxed and confident. We achieved so much more than expected for first timers and we can only credit that on our instructor. Not only was Fraser a great instructor for us newbies, but he afterwards went off to help our friends with there technique and where to find the best surf.
All the equipment and suits were top quality!
Couldn't fault Salty Surf! Perfect!

Given I have taken more than a few school groups through more than a few surf schools and not left reviews, its saying something just leaving a review! Fraser and his team (Taylor and co.) were simply genuine, sharing and devoted everything to our six groups we had over 3 days. Adapting to each skill level, individualising the learning and getting everyone too their feet in a fun and enjoyable way. All the students have commented on how surfing was definitely one of their favourite activities and when there isn't much surf around, Fraser can find it, get all students surfing and still manage to get the fundamentals of ocean learning in as well (and the students don't even realise!). Thanks for a great week and we'll definitely be back next year!

I've had lessons with 2 different surf schools before but this one was different and really good. Not only were the tips and teaching good, he was honest enough to say practice on your own and then come back instead of wasting your money. The small sized group was perfect and we all got good attention. He also has rentals which makes it easier as it a go to place for all. Definitely a highly recommend surf school. Thank u!

The girls had the best times. We immediately booked in again for the next day. They were going full on for the two hours and all managed to stand up on the boards. They were buzzing for hours afterwards. All the Salty Surf guys were lovely and very good at their jobs. The girls won't stop talking about it. Looking forward to next time

Great lesson this weekend. Very professional instructor who assessed my abilities from the start and constructed a lesson to suit. Sound local knowledge of waves and forecasts ensured I had the perfect conditions for my complete novice skill-set! Friendly, easy-going approach to the lesson - had fun, learned heaps, will be back!

Keen to find a surfing spot within 90 minutes from home pointed us to Point Leo and Shoreham. Board and wettie hire was a must and I easily booked same online at Salty website. Within 30 minutes I received a call from Fraser. Very friendly and helpful, giving me the heads-up about the current conditions about tide, swell and drop-off points.
When we arrive to collect the hired items, Fraser and his offsider (name escapes me but a very helpful dude) ran through the the how and where to's. Absolutely amazing service!!!
We only needed a few hours to to some teaching/practice but the whole experience was so impressive, that anyone who is keen to learn how to surf, don't bother going over the bridge to the Torquays and Lornes, just head down Eastlink/Peninsula Link and hit up Fraser.
Awesome work bro!

hi, was not cold to have surf lesson during winter?
Written 3 August 2018
The water is pretty chilly in Melbourne winter. 3mm fully sealed Wetsuits are supplied. For most people this keeps them warm as surfing is such an active sport
