About
Buller Wines was established in Rutherglen in North-East Victoria in 1921 by Reginald Langdon Buller. The founding fathers’ vision was to create a world-class winery that expresses the unique terroir of the region, a legacy we continue to build upon today. The historic dry-grown 22-hectare Buller Wines Estate Vineyard was first planted by Reginald in the early 1920’s. Today, over half of those original plantings are still producing intensely concentrated low yielding fruit that is the hallmark of the Buller Wines portfolio. In recent years under the guidance of experienced winemaker Dave Whyte, Buller Wines is established as a coveted 5 star rated James Halliday Winery. With such accolades Buller Wines has since grown to become a destination to experience top-class wines, award-winning gins, incomparable whiskies and unparalleled views of muscat vines from the comfort of modern private accommodation.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The wines here are not to our tasting but the staff and cellar door are excellent. More catered to the person trying good Australian wines for the first time, they are easy wines to drink.
A bonus for us was a tasting of vintage fortified wines, which were beyond excellent but if you want full bodied, big wines, perhaps the members types may be more to your liking.

A wonderful outlook with very tasy food.
A quiet day , good friends and good service.
Kelly and the gang were most helpful , made a fine lemon squash and the banter added to the friendly nature of the restaurant.
Thanks guys

Rutherglen is promoting itself as the World’s Muscat Capital and there are plenty of good Muscat options available in the local area. Bullers offers great muscats and other fortified wines. The cellar door is modern and well appointed. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We also found some good gin here.

Okay food when they had it.
Went on a Wednesday we booked so they knew we were coming.
We ordered some bottles of wine which they didn’t pour when they arrived to the table.
They didn’t have one option of the entree we ordered so we had to change our order.
Unfortunately the lamb for mains was over cooked aswell.
They then gave us the option of dessert which we ordered only to be told they didn’t have what we ordered and only had enough dessert for 2/5 people.
Overall pretty disappointing. If you are going to take bookings on a week day you should be prepared to provide food and service to those bookings.
We would not go back.

Buller Wines are best known outside of Australia for their fortified wines, including ports. Rutherglen is blessed with year-round sunlight, ensuring that the vines bear richly. Bullers are well-known for their muscular reds. The cellar door is open seven days a week. Visitors are invited to take a guided tour of the century-old winery. They can sample Bulllers extensive range of red and white wines. Bullers are a stalwart of the historic Rutherglen region.

It's been awhile since we stopped in Buller Wines and a lot of changes have been made and it looks really good. We settled on some wine tastings and were welcomed with a friendly smile and offered a seat at the bar. We tasted quite a few wines and purchased their Fine Old Muscat, Sparkling Rose and The Nook 2019 Durif. Nice to see that we didn't have to pay a tasting fee.
They also have a beautiful restaurant and outdoor area. Well worth a visit when traveling to the Rutherglen/ Corowa area.

In 1921, Reginald Buller planted the vines that a cenury later produce the world famous Buller Wines. Buller's are famous for thei hearty reds, which are much sought after. Rutherglen is known as one of the world's pre-eminant producers of fortified wines. The Buller's range of fortified wines includes Topaque, Tawny and the luscious Muscat.

Don’t waste your time and MONEY!
It was appalling.
They had an answer for everything:
Wait time: not able to get staff
Menu items not available: delivery didn’t arrive.
Vegetarian options: 1 option, remove prawns from Pasta dish.
We book over a week ago. They should have notified us before we arrived!!!
Over priced rubbish.
We are local to the area and will never go back!!!

Last minute booking for us and what a lucky find ! Arrived for a lazy lunch with the family. The food was utterly divine. We had the lamb shank, pork belly, barramundi and cauliflower ravioli. Everyone of us cleared our plates. The staff were so friendly and chatty. Will definitely be revisiting 👏👏
