Fantastic reds!

Great local vibe with direct access to the winemaker. Fabulous wines - highly recommend the Shiraz and Durif. Bear the dog an added bonus if you’re up for attention and providing a pat! A wonderful welcoming place.

Lovely afternoon trying a variety of delicious wines, superb Shiraz and Durif varieties in particular. Definitely worth a stop on your drive along the Murray. Thanks very much!

Great wine tasting
Jun. 2020
We booked in for an 11 am tasting with friends. The attentiveness of the staff was excellent, explaining manya of the fine points that added to the experience. We had the option of tasting 8 different ones, of which three were swallowed and resulted in treats of the same upon return to home. Great fun.

Another winery worth visiting
Mar. 2020
Friendly, patient people who presented a great tasting. Better still there was a good range of tables wines and of course Rutherglen's famous muscat and muscadelle wines. I have been visitng regularly for some years and always have received a great welcome. Worht visitng even if a little (20km) out from the town centre. of course not so far for the wineries west of thw town. ake time and plan a circuit. (as with all the wineries I visited there was no charge for tasting)

Thank you for taking the time to review us, Malcolm. Your positive feedback makes all the difference in helping other visitors to the region seek us out and experience our offering for themselves. We are a little further from town as you mentioned, but the 13 minute drive from Rutherglen is always well-rewarded by our friendly staff and tasting experience. We hope you enjoy your travels and visit us again the next time you're in Rutherglen.

One of the best vineyards we have visited
Jan. 2020
We visited this winery while on holiday to Victoria and with friends from Sydney who knew of it. I had wanted to visit as an old friend we had stayed with the days before in Lockwood, had treated us to a 2004 Durrif from this winery and we were blown away by the experience. We were there at a quiet time and Andrew came around with his coffee and sat on a barrel chatting with us and leading us through some tastings. Frankly, all the wines I tasted are delightful but I suppose from my limited tasting I was inclined to like the Durrif most. Sadly, flying home to Scotland economy class meant we could only take a few bottles. We opened a Durrif at a recent family meal and everyone who tasted it was very impressed. We have two Cab Sav left for another special. We were very sad to hear that this year's vintage might be harmed by the smoke from the terrible bush fires disaster but I guess there is always another year and worse has happened. A big thank you to Andrew for his warm welcome and making us feel like friends.

What a glowing report card- thank you so very much for your kind words! You'll have to pass on our thanks to your friends for introducing you to our wines. We hope that they remain equally as impressive to those lucky enough to share a bottle with you back in Scotland. Andrew is very generous with his time and, with coffee in hand, is happy to show groups such as your selves through the cellar and explain his processes. The bush fires and ensuing smoke have been a plague on our year thus far however we have been conducting analyses and small batch fermentation trials to assess the extent of its impact. While we always do our best to remain optimistic, we can ensure all of our loyal followers that if we aren't happy with any wines we produce, they will simply not be released to the public. We have adequate stocks of back vintage wines that will ensure that nobody goes thirsty in the interim and look forward to vintage 2021!

Enthusiastic Hospitality

On a recent road trip I decided to check out some of the wineries around Rutherglen. I ventured into Warrabilla Wines and did some tastings at their well set up cellar door area. The staff there were extremely hospitable, friendly, and very knowledgeable and passionate about their produce. They have a broad range of products to try - the Shiraz & Durif were the outstandingly delicious highlights for me - boldly huge - quite unique really. A visit here is highly recommended.

Outstanding wine tasting experience
Oct. 2019
We totally enjoyed our wine tasting experience at Warrabilla Wines. Deb was our host and she did an excellent job in guiding us through the wines which were all reds other than a Riesling that was excellent value for money. If you are a lover of reds there is definitely something for you here. We particularly liked their Durif. Overall an outstanding wine tasting experience.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience, Lindsay. Deb has been with us at Warrabilla for over 17 years now and knows our wines inside out and back to front. We are especially glad to hear that you found some highlight wines. The Durif is highly popular but as you pointed out, there is a range of reds, so there is likely something there to suit most palates. Happy travels!

Excellent Winery - Great Experience
Sep. 2019
From the moment you arrive you feel like you belong. Andrew greeted us with a warm smile and Bear the dog couldn't wait for a pat. Then we tasted the wines. Sooo nice. Andrew was very generous with the tastings and no pressure at all in regards to selling his wines. He didn't need to, the wines spoke for themselves. While we were there several groups of people arrived who obviously were repeat visitors. Do yourself a favour and make sure you taste the Muscat while you are there. Definitely will be returning.

Thank you so very much for your kind words, they truly make our day. Andrew is a top bloke and makes some incredible wines which as you pointed out, means there’s no hard sales pitch involved. We simply put our trust in the product. If you happen to find yourself back in Rutherglen, please stop by as one of our repeat visitors- we’d be glad to have you!

Thanks a million for your very kind review. We're all a little "wine-mad" out here and any excuse for a chat with some nice folks over a tasting or two really makes our day. Cheers!

Excellent Tasting - Lovely Wines
Jul. 2019 • Couples
We had an excellent tasting at this winery with Robin taking us through a number of his wines. He was very down to earth and quite entertaining and I thought the wines were outstanding quality and value for money.
In particular the Parola’s Limited Release Shiraz & Durif are worth trying while the Smithy’s Blend Cleanskins are also really good value.
If you are visiting this region I would highly recommend that you have this winery on your itinerary.
