About
The Red Hill Community Market is moving! After 49 years we are excited to announce that the market has relocated. Starting on Saturday, 26th of October, the market will now be held from 9am to 2pm. While the date and location are new, you can still expect the same high-quality products, delicious food, and vibrant atmosphere in this breathtaking setting.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This market has just got too big and too busy.
Now filled with too many stalls selling too much imported junk.
Boneo, Tootgarook and other smaller markets are so mush more pleasant to stroll around on a Saturday morning.

Thought it was pretty disappointing just the same as any other market. There was no where to sit and enjoy food and drinks.

cost $4 to park along way away from the market. Over priced stalls. Long queue to get a coffee. Hot food was good. Took an hour to get out of the car park. Would not recommend this market to people in the Melbourne area, better to go to the Gas Works market of market in Richmond at least they will not rip you off.

The red hill market really is my favourite market in Victoria!! I always end up walking out (dragging my full belly) with bags of yummy new gourmet treasures! The ferry from cowes with a little bus to the market really is a new find to enhance the trip!

Over 300 stalls, great variety of local produce, crafts, food. Get there early to avoid the crowd and if you want free parking be prepared to walk a distance otherwise $5 for secure and directed parking.

this is an excellent market that we visit every jan. it gets very busy so i suggest you go very early as we always do. there is plenty of parking so that isnt a problem its just the line of traffic getting there. once you are there its great plenty to see and do also good food options as well.

Great variety of items for sale, well set out in sheds and around the ovals and a great selection of hot food and drinks. Bring cash and your credit card and there is a portable ATM on site too.

Our visit to the Red Hill markets was filled with excitement. There was something for everyone here...fresh flowers, food, beauty products, clothes, baby products...just to name a few. You can spend hours here looking for a gift for a friend or yourself. I recommend going early. We got there just before the market opening time and there were already hundreds of browsers there. By the time we left, there was barely an empty carpark space to be seen and there was literally a queue of car for kilometres down the road. A fun outing for all.

Went here on a Saturday morning. We left just after 7am and got there at 8. I'm so glad we left early as when we left at 11.30 the traffic was backed up for kms and cars were actually turning around as it was that busy. Lots of different stalls with arts and crafts, homemade jams and chutneys, and lots of nick nacks. I was a little surprised that there wasn't more fresh produce there but overall a great market. I can't stress enough that you need to go early, arrive before 9! And the car parking does cost so make sure you bring some gold coins.

Well, what can I say. This is a fantastic place to take family and friends. I love this market. You not only get quality food but a great selection of crafts. It is similar to the Flemington Night Market but we normally make a day of it. There is a small fee for parking but if you get there early and we normally get there before 8am, you can be assured of a good spot. Take your own bags and comfortable shoes. Its nice to just walk around, take your time, and taste and talk to the vendors. We have so much fun. The locals are pleasant and keen to talk about their products. Good variety of food, crafts and sometimes they have nursery animals to keep the children occupied. All in all, a fantastic day out for family or friends to spend a few hours. When the market closes, you can always go down to the wineries for a nice drink or just take the scenic route back to the city and suburbs. I would recommend this lovely summer farmers market to all. Enjoy!
