Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The 'Yum' in the title is obvious. The interesting bit was discovering (after 23 years of marriage) that my wife and I have cheese tasting palates at opposite ends of the spectrum, and only one of the 8 sample cheeses on offer was agreeable to both our palates. I will try to keep that in mind when cooking for her in the future.
The cheese samples were brought out quite cold. With some willpower we decided to wait before sampling so that the cheeses could warm up a bit and announce their full flavours. It was worth the wait.
I found a magnificent cow blue cheese for making that 'special' pasta sauce (plus an amazing cumin goat cheese that wasn't even on the radar before this visit) , and my better half fell in love with an appropriately named 'champagne' goat cheese that I was happy to set aside for her to finish.
Good thing we brought the esky cooler with freezer blocks, as several cheeses joined us on this hot summers day for the drive home.
Do take your Tasting Plate handwritten notes home so you have a record of what you liked, what you bought and most importantly why.
Another useful tip may be, if you decide to sit outdoors for the tasting, spray yourself with insect repellent and wash your hands well before you commence tasting, to avoid 'mixing the flavours'... just saying.

You are able to sample these cheese on a sampling platter for $5 a couple. There's a variety of goat, cow and sheep cheeses (soft and hard) for sampling. They also have other accessories such as wood chopping boards, aprons and cheese boards for sale. Staff are friendly helpful. Worth a visit.

We always drop by on our rounds of the wineries. its right next to main ridge estate winery so makes a good combo. You can tell how passionate the cheesemakers are if you talk to them, have their own sheep for milking. Oodles of awards up on the walls and the taste matches. i like mild cheese so portsea picnic is my absolute fave, but my wife swears by the really strong blue cheese we got (forget the name sorry). Its down a secluded road so you feel like you are in another world sitting on the deck overlooking the forest. get there early before the crowds. open in the afternoons on we and holidays but check the website.

We had been here before and the place at that time lacked something but this visit was very good with friendly staff and of course very good cheese. It is located on Williams Road (a dirt track) in Red Hill amid tall trees and has an excellent atmosphere. The small tasting plate of cheese at $10 was excellent value.

As the new custodians of Red Hill Cheese, we are glad that you enjoyed your experience with us! We have recently refurbished the space and serving artisan cheese in a warm and friendly space is important to us; thank you for your feedback!

Was in the neighbourhood after having lunch nearby and decided to stop in to pick up some cheese. The shop has a great variety of locally produced cheese including soft and hard. Well worth a side stop.

Firstly I will state. We did not end up going to this attraction. Why?
Was looking a couple of weeks ago for a Cheese Facory that we could visit. Specifically wanted to sample and most likely buy lots of cheese (we always do when we visit cheese factories) and they have to have a "Blue",
Some thing fairly local (for us). Found this place on the web via the web site. There was a discrepancy with opening times on the site so I emailed.
The reply was short simply and essentially saying I was wrong, with what I saw on the page.
To which I replied.
I advised them that I was not an idiot, and would not annoy them if the information was clearly shown on the site. Interesting that during this exchange the web site was updated and the date was removed.
The follow up email was at least a little more friendly but still not offer a real apology. Actually they sent to me what I suggested they use for future exchanges like this - verbatim) They admitted it was an error on their site.
My main issue is the lack of customer service so I can only assume that in person they would be just as rude. From this simple email question - they lost a blue cheese loving customer for ever.

Down a well graded private dirt road (off Arthurs Seat Rd), you descend into the depths of Mornington Peninsula bushland and the wonderful location of Red Hill Cheese. Listen to, and see, the birds flying in the trees surrounding this place and walk thru a colourful garden to a magnificent cheese offering. All cheeses made by the owners or at their farm shop at Moyarra (near Korumburra). You are offered a choice of 2 tasting plates ($5 or $10) with up to 8 selections of cheese and more on offer if you desire. Cheese from sheep, cows and goats. The tasting notes provided give a brief description (very accurate, we thought) of the taste and style. You can sit inside or outside depending on the weather, or your choice. A brief but very informative commentary is given by staff about the cheeses you are going to try. Very pleasant staff who have a relaxed manner. Some non-alcoholic drinks also available, if you desire. A beautiful location to enjoy some wonderful farm made produce.

Small shop with very friendly shop. The cheese is available for tasting for $5-$10 with crackers. It's not worth to drive that far to do tasting as there are no tours to see cheese making.

We had not been here before and were pleasantly surprised. I recommend getting a tasting plate $5 for two people with 8 cheeses to taste. They also give you a piece of paper with the cheeses on it you're tasting so you can note which ones you like best. Staff are friendly and informative. We came away with a couple of our favourite cheeses. Worth a visit when you're in the area.
