Highly recommend visiting Mont Rouge Estate. You can enjoy lunch and finish with handmade chocolates ice cream. Leave room forcthe wine, as they have an excellent selection of quality wines.

We had a lovely time at Mont Rouge Estate. Lunch was a nice balance of meats, salad and dips. I especially like the water melon in balsamic vinegar. We could have gone with the 2018 Shiraz but for a change, we decided on the 2018 Pinot Noir to pair with the $28pp set BBQ lunch. It was fabulous.

It was then followed by a double-scooped pistachio + sorbet ice-cream in the next building in the picnic area. The pistachio was smooth and creamy while the sorbet tangy - a great combination. Chocolate-wise, it was a box of chocolate coffee beans, which I had a few last night. Smooth too. And a tube of chocolate-coated cherry.

One other thing that this establishment stands out from others: dogs are welcome :)

If you plan to have a day out in the peninsula, you must check out Mont Rouge. Chat with the "apprentice" to the apprentice to the winemaker to know more about their wine.

A beautiful setting for a relaxing lunch and glass of wine. Friendly, welcoming and attentive hosts who made the experience genuinely lovely. No pretence at Mont Rouge just delicious bbq lunch followed by dreamy ice cream and artisan chocolates. I may have also become a convert to a cheeky Mont Rouge Chardonnay too! 😉
Do yourself a favour and drop into Mont Rouge, you won’t be disappointed!

We experienced their new winter menu beef cheeks, chicken cassoulet, meatballs, mashed potato, yummy pumpkin salad and delicious home made bread to soak up all the delectable juices. Then headed down to the chocolate factory for a coffee and chocolates no ice cream this time as it was too cold! As we have previously tried the homemade ice creams before. What a great little place this is and hopefully they continue to do really well in their new venture. It is extremely good value all round!

What's not to love at this unique, cosy and charming boutique winery?
Their wines are full of character, their hand made chocolates blended with extraordinary flavours of product from local growers are as individual and surprising as you'll ever find.

And it doesn't stop there because if you don't end your day with a dose of their special ice cream creations, you have missed out!

An extravaganza for the taste buds complemented by lovely, down to earth, real people that offers you that family welcoming feeling.

We've already booked in our next delectable lunch and looking forward to several celebrations to be shared with family and friends here.

This remarkable place will offer you a distinctive and special little journey.

If you want to feel like 'à la maison' (at home ) and enjoy a relaxing atmosphere, head to this boutique winery, in Red Hill.
Mont Rouge means 'Red Hill' in French and was previously called Darling Park.
The 4 acre vineyard consists of Pinot noir, Pino Gris and Chardonnay and has 30 years of history.
I tasted the 2018 Pinot noir with strawberry flavours, not too light, not too strong and perfect to go along with my lunch.Gourmet Barbecue lunch on weekends and public holidays with generous options of meat for $25 .Tasting for a reasonable $5.
Nice and cosy atmosphere with 2 welcoming hosts, Brendon and Jenny.
This is what you call a hidden gem.

Great relaxed atmosphere, simple but tasty bbq and salad and wonderful Pinot noir! What more could you ask
We were oldies amongst mainly young families.

This one is going to be your special find you tell your friends about
A great casual quality meal , a glass of wine , a great setting then a 25 meter walk to the new addition - home made chocolates and ice cream - you will not believe the quality of these

we are so lucky to have something like this right on our door steps

I suspect you go soon or you will find this joint very busy when the locals talk to much to their friends...
