Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I am curious that so many bad reviews are on this... particularly one gentleman who has returned to the reserve expecting something different on his return-- If he didn't see what makes this place interesting the first time, I doubt he will on the second.

The reserve is a few kilometres out of town... it will take about five minutes by car. When you arrive there is a carparking area, but it is not formalised... and not warranted as it's not a busy place.

Immediately stepping into the reserve you are greeted with bird song and the rustling sounds in the bushes indicated birds, lizards or snakes appreciate this and have made the area home. The bird song is particularly charming. It's very serene to walk through the reserve and you will get to a lookout that is the Riverland lookout... not the red cliffs exactly because you are literally on top of those. But if you follow the area to your far right ( standing in the carpark, looking towards the lookout) you will get to the area that shows you the red cliffs.

The cliffs and reserve evolve as with many natural reserves making a fence appropriate so that visitors do not risk themselves taking photos over the edge of the cliff.

It was so peaceful to walk through the area... it was quite cool when I was there but I imagine in the hotter months aeroguard would be necessary to steer the flies away ... or mosquitoes at night.

The Red Cliffs Scenic Reserve is quite poortly done and a tourist opportunity in a very pretty place lost. The area is untidy, the fences badly placed and undergrowth obscures views. There is a lookout point but it is not able to capture any cliff viiews Shame on whoever is responsible for not making this place a features for visitors to Red Cliffs--an opportunity lost. There is a new Murray River Boardwalk nearby which is good but little known.

You get a panoramic view of the river and the less interesting other bank. The view of the actual red cliffs is limited as you are above them and restricted to the walkway.
Easy stop off main road into Mildura. Stop off at a local coffee shop to spread the love!

On Google maps the new boardwalk (where you get very nice views) is marked by a blue dotted path near the corner of Woomera Ave and cassia st. On maps.me you can see a parking lot symbol near Berrigan lane. GPS coordinates roughly -34.305278, 142.230753

The red cliffs lookout is not as nice..like other people said it's fenced up so you can't see a lot.

These are not well signposed on the road. Better to check your map before you go.

The Red Cliffs Nature Reserve wasn't too hard to find - marked on Google maps. It looks as though they have built a new viewing platform which gives a lot of information and good photo opportunities. The new boardwalk and lookout is only a short 5 minutes level walk from the carpark. Worth a short visit.

Lovely views but bit hard to find.
Enquired at the local post office and staff their very helpful and gave me a local tourist map
There was a sign but confused with local scout hall as sign just said SC 1 km and below scout club ?
Best views were from pumping station end and car park with new steel board walk at far end.
The look out in the middle managed by Parks Vic was rather neglected and what was once a path down the cliffs has washed away and been fenced off.
Easy to climb through but only to get down to river but why bother when new walk way further along does the same.

This is quite a beautiful area and completely neglected and run down. The board walk was closed , the area to view the clifs fenced off and there was litter and old electrical cable strews around and the paths were poorly defined. This is the history of Red Cliffs and with so much potential and a total disgrace and refelects badly on Mildura Council and Parks Victoria.

According to Google maps we were in the correct place but am not convinced we were but there were no sign posts? The area we were in was restricted by a wire fence so far away from the cliff you couldn't hardly see anything.

We eventually found the cliff lookout, there was absolutely no visible signage to direct you there from the highway. Very hard to find. Good boardwalk to view the cliffs once you are there. Worth a look they are quite spectacular. Be good to see them from below in a boat. Maybe one day.
