Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Faulty Towers experience at the Vue Grand hotel in Queenscliff is highly recommended for all who thoroughly enjoyed the series. Basil, Sybil and Manuel delight diners with 2 hours of personal service, waiting on tables through the dinner. The package is good value at $120 for a 3 course dinner, beer and wine, and the show. You need to be on your guard at all times, because the repertoire from the series is played out on you !
Highly entertaining, highly recommended and good value.

We took in this dinner theatre show when on a holiday in Melbourne.
As a fan of the series since I was a teen, I wanted to share this experience with my family.
The show started with Basil checking off the guest list, making his 'impatience' known to his willing guests.
After we were seated, he was joined by Sybil and the inept but lovable Manuel, who made a mess serving the rolls while Sybil played the hostess.
Many of the common scenes were re-enacted and smoothly blended with the serving of the 3 course British meal.
Watch out for the German walk, Fire drill, basil the rat, betting on the horse, as well as added antics (no spoilers allowed here).
Nobody noticed the average food as we were too busy laughing at the antics of the Fawlty team.
A must if you are a Fawlty Towers fan, and if not, Google the episodes beforehand to join in the fun!

the three actors had the characters from Fawlty towers down pat, and the interaction with the diners was great

As a long time fan of John Cleese and Fawlty Towers I was looking forward to this show. The Vue Grand is a perfect venue, with its old English architecture and grand style, unfortunately my friends and I all agreed that the overall experience was average. This is not to say we did not enjoy ourselves as the venue, service and quality acting, by all three performers, were excellent. Although there was a tense moment when one guest took offence to Basil's not quite politically correct humour and this made the atmosphere a bit tense for a while. You go for the show so don't expect a gourmet meal or expensive wines. If you like Fawlty Towers and want a good night out with friends and are not fussy about the meal, then I would recommend. Especially if at a venue like the Vue Grand.
