About
Refuge Cove Cruises conduct full day cruises in the waters around the magnificent Wilsons Promontory National Park in Gippsland, Victoria Australia. Relax onboard a brand new 42 passenger catamaran while you visit the sites this area is famous for including Skull Rock, Kanowna Seal Colony, Prom Lighthouse and the many beautiful coves along this scenic coastline. The custom designed vessel has a bow door allowing you to step straight off the boat onto the beach at Refuge Cove. There is plenty of time to explore the beach and surrounds and the boat is licenced so you can enjoy a cool drink with your lunch in one of the most beautiful beaches in the country. What an amazing day I, wife and son had! We did this cruise four years ago and again have watched our video footage we filmed.
This was one of the best tours I have done in my life and believe me, that is saying something!
The ability and skill of the drivers along with the power of the boat meant we got right in to really isolated beaches and coves. We got right up close to the various Islands (including the memorable Skull Rock) that were awe inspiring.
I highly recommend this trip.

Scenery ? Tick. History ? Tick . Local knowledge ? Big tick. Capable vessel with friendly crew, and tasty tucker included too. Cheers to guide Jeremy, still caring for the Prom after many years as a park ranger, so much knowledge of the place and its wildlife. Hats off also to skipper Dale, guiding the large vessel in some tight places so that we could get up close to fantastic scenery and other features. Definitely recommended!!

The eight hours we spent with refugecove cruises yesterday was memorable in so many ways. This beautiful new boat took us into many of the hidden treasures in Wilsons Promontory National that until now have been either not been reachable or required days of hiking to access. The boats manoeuvrability meant we got up close to the many of the points of beauty of this part of the world . It is a destination that is hard to match in Victoria and beyond. The experience was made all the more memorable with the knowledgeable “deckhand” and captain attending to all guests with careful attention. Definately an experience not to be missed

We took the full day Wilsons Prom cruise. Only 11 people on the cruise the day we went, so plenty of opportunity to move around and ask questions of the helpful crew (Jason and Jeremy on our occasion).
Seating was comfortable and didn't feel any jarring even over some bumpy waves. Jason was obviously very careful to pick a course that would allow his passengers as much comfort as possible.
There were a couple of less mobile people on board who were unable to get out of their seat easily to join the outside information sessions, but Jeremy would then come and sit with them and share the information one to one, allowing them to participate.
Food was basic, but plenty of it, with tea and coffee included, and alcohol bought separately if required.
We visited many islands and bays all along the Eastern side and just around the southern tip of the Prom. At Refuge Cove where lunch was served, you could eat on board or on the beach and choose how to spend the time. We walked a short way up a hill to a large rock where we had a beautiful view of the beaches. We then walked about 15 mins to the neighbouring beach (almost flat walk) for a swim and a snorkel. It was a cloudy day, so not as spectacular as it would be at other times, but still very worthwhile. The water was very clear and a huge variety of fish around the rocks. The boat then picked us up at that beach.
We loved the cruise and would recommend it as a way of seeing Wilson's Prom from a different perspective.

We had a very enjoyable , relaxing cruise around “The Prom”, yesterday, and would highly recommend it. Jason and Jeremy were very accommodating and informative , and our morning and afternoon tea was yummy home cooked cakes and biscuits , and lunch was a lovely salad with cold meats . Complimented then by a fruit platter , consisting of all different types of delicious fruit . Highlight for me was the dolphins and seals . The dolphins are just beautiful and there were hundreds right next to the boat . The seals were very entertaining with the babies sliding down the rocks into the water . Very funny seals . All in all , we had a wonderful day . Thanks Refuge Cove Cruises.

We did the full day Prom tour. Yes, it does cost quite a bit, but it is NOT expensive considering what you get - almost 8 hours on the boat, a former ranger, lunch, and a side of the prom that only the bushwalkers get to. more dolphins than I have ever seen in one spot, penguins, seals, and much more.
It is a long day, but probably the best tourist thing I have done in Victoria - sorry but this was better than the great ocean road.
Absolutely loved it and will definitely do again.

This is simply awesome.
It is safe for the whole family (including young ones) and affordable.
You get a different perspective of Wilson's Prom (Southern & SE side) and see whales breaching and dolphins swimming alongside the boat! Food is fantastic and the crew cater for young families, couples & elderly.
I couldn't recommend a better experience in Victoria...
And despite the drop box options, the truth is we did this on 11/11/17
